Controlling your children by using tracking technology can have many advantages and disadvantages. However, the disadvantages can outweigh the advantages. Using tracking technology on kids may be successful in getting to know where they are, how fast they are diving or if they are attending the classes. There were lots of cases when such technologies saved children’s lives; however, it also can lead to children’s psychological and mental disorders. When deciding to use tracking technology on your kids, it is best to consider the pros and cons of tracking them. First, controlling your children can cause to them many psychological and mental disorders. Parents, who control their children and do not allow them to make their own choices, can lead to children’s rebellious behavior. In particular, this is true for teenagers who should make some mistakes, take a risk and make their own decisions in order to develop, grow up and learn. If they are micro-managed, it can cause their anti-social personality development, parent-child relational problem disorders, depression and paranoid personality. All these are serious deceases and need extensive medical treatment including professional sessions with psychiatrics. Second, parents should develop trust and respect without completely eliminating mistrust and disrespect. According to the psychologist Erik Erikson, parents should allow teens to explore their environment without controlling them. If parents control their children too much, later they feel ashamed and doubt their abilities. Also, teens loose respect and love toward parents. Moreover, they can become suspicious to the people around; and when these children grow up and become parents by themselves, they will not be able to provide necessary warmth and supportive environment to their children, which will bring up too cold and unfriendly generation.
