Case Study of Jamestown: A Nation is a Series of Choices Everything in life is a choice. From picking peas over carrots to setting off a nuclear bomb, everything is a choice. A choice can make or break a person but along those lines, a choice can make or break a nation. It was also a choice to come to the new world, America. It was the first choice to be made in America. It was a choice shadowed by “what if”. Choices are always preceded by “what if”. Choices make or break a nation. The choice made by the to be Jamestown-ians made this nation as we know it. The stitches in political fabric is a choice to make a stitch. The foundation of our dreams in America, our themes of America were made in Jamestown. We are a country of mutts and purebreds alike. But racism is still apparent in America by the mountain load. People earned rights but not full rights. Foreign aliens can’t work without a true green card. But they still do, because they have to survive. It is an unalienable right, the pursuit of happiness. To work and receive pay could also a part of the pursuit of happiness. Students are alienated in schools not only in high school but also in colleges. They are bullied, scorned, and laughed at, but that is not the worst. Students are abused to a cruel extent and hurt way more than when just being laughed at. It is true that it is more of a social problem, but it is still a form of racism. The seeds of a nation sprouted into trees of themes in America. Its starts in the colonies and grew into each and everyone of us in some way or another. Like how racism is in all the books we read, in some way at least, and how discrimination is seen almost everyday in some way. Like how women of today are allowed to do what they can do today because of the fight for our rights. These trees are strong and stable and will stay like this for a long time. If it lasted for centuries, then it is strong enough to last a few more
