The American dream is sought after and imagined by everyone who comes to America. It is the main reason that people come to America; they come for freedom as well as to one day attain the idea of a perfect American dream. It theoretically symbolizes what you have accomplished in life and what you wish to one day have. In my personal opinion if any person wants come to America to live a life of happiness, be released of religious persecution and the freedom to say what you feel, then it can be accomplished. This is the first thing you get as soon as you become an American.
The parts of a blackface minstrel show was to present the black character as being stupid, as being laughable, as being a silly person. What was worse about this is that people loved it. It’s as if that is what people had though about blacks all along that makes it really racist. So when you have Rice’s characterization of blacks it almost reaffirms what typical America had been thinking all along. Then you have the Virginia Minstrels that developed other characters that were way more obnoxious than the character Rice had portrayed.

I mean, sure, grades are very motivational, but they are also very harming. Countless suicides are caused by grades and pressure, and I think it just really isn’t necessary to put a student on the spot like that. Let’s say a student makes straight A’s. That’s great in most cases, but does it really self-motivate the student into learning more, or does it give them a little lee-way to slack off and maybe not study as much? Or let’s say that a student gets straight C’s.
Procrastination has been around as long as humankind has been existing, but the only deference is the way we are being punished. Back then people where looked at as sinners, and sloth, although; it is a negative punishment towards the results of procrastinating when it has a positive reaction as receiving a check, tax, food, and successful career. In my opinion, being a procrastinator is due to a psychological effect, due to experience as a student and an employee. Most people procrastinate because they are dealing with some type of issue or matter. (Fuschia Sirois pg35) In 2006..the university of Windsor in Ontario reported in a study of 254 adults that procrastinators had higher stress levels and more acute completed jobs in a timely manner.” This situation then affects a person’s health, creating anxiety, and stresses even more due to the facts that he or she is in a position where they have zero privacy to express themselves and from my opinion it can result in having a person becoming psychodynamic.

They don't just please the overall thirst for an “easy A.” Strict professors are good professors when it comes down to getting the job done in the classroom. Strictness won't be the only thing keeping the students in their element. As crazy as it sounds, the student who wants to succeed should desire a teacher who assigns quite a bit of homework versus a minuscule amount that won't
