Introduction This report is a narrative interpretation of training at The Legend Hotel over a period of three working months. I have personally chosen The Legend Hotel to complete my internship because of its quality service and physical challenge. I believe working in this hotel will give me the blunt exposure needed for an individual to succeed and survive in the hospitality industry. I will get to know more about the hotel operation and find out different types of management in this hotel as well. I had training at The Legend Hotel from 4th October 2010 until 15th January 2011. As a trainee in The Legend Hotel, I consider as a part of worker at The Legend Hotel, I need to follow the rules and regulations of The Legend Hotel. The agreement between college and hotel is to place me at three operation departments that are housekeeping department, food & beverage department and front office department. And one more administrative department that is finance department. I will acquire knowledge and basic skills that are needed by the operations of this industry and to maximize organizational fit to sustain my position within the industry. To start my internship report, I will include the overview of The Legend Hotel, follow by my learning experience in various department. History of The Organization The Legend Hotel is a wholly owned subsidiary of Metroplex Holding Sdn. Bhd. The Group diversified in the hotel, resort and leisure division in 1993. The first time The Legend Hotel was conferred as a 5 star hotel was on 1994. The soft opening date of The Legend Hotel was on January 1994. The Vision & Values was launched on 9 January 2001. The former hotel vision statement was To Be Leading Leisure Group - Exceeding Customer Expectations. But nowadays, the current hotel vision statement is Malaysian Hospitality – Our Way of Life Experience the Difference.
