For my report I have read the second half to the novel Player One by Douglas Coupland. The ladder half of the book is split into two chapters. The first, Hello, My Name is Monster the nuclear fallout on the airport becomes so violent the mysterious sniper has to seek safety inside the hotel lobby where he is caught and taken prisoner by the other characters. Rachel, the socially challenged bombshell and Rick, the down on his luck bartender have sex which sets Rachel on track to her life goal of reproducing. The sniper, Bertis, explains his motives to the group and a teenager, Max, blindly finds his way to the hotel lounge after chemicals get into his eyes and all over his skin.
Having completed her wish, Matty attempts to kill Ned and Mary Ann Simpson who helped her carry out the mission so that the case could be closed. A woman identified as Matty is found dead and Ned ends up going to jail. There he finds out that Matty’s name was actually Mary Ann Simpson and that the body found dead was that of Matty Tyler, name of her high school friend. This movie definitely bears certain legal issues that give reasons to characters acting in certain ways. Throughout this paper, I will address these issues and show their application in plot.

The most famous of the murders was committed on August 9 and 10, 1969. They were known as the “Tate-LaBianca murders”. Manson incited his Family members to murder Abigail Folger, the coffee magnate, pregnant actress Sharon Tate, and three other victims in the home of Hollywood film director Roman Polanski. They murderers left political clues such as “Piggy”, “Rise”, and “Helter Skelter” smeared on the walls in the victims’ blood and an American flag draped over the couch. “Manson and the Family were hoping to place blame away from their mission of salvation-through-murder” and the following night the Family members killed prominent businessman Leno LaBianca and his wife Rosemary in the same fashion in their home (Charles Manson 2).
A very popular reason is post-partum depression. Another reason is sympathy. The final reason, that moms kill their own children is pure selfishness. Three of the most famous mother killers to discuss are Andrea Yates, Susan Smith and, Casey Anthony. Andrea Yates, mother of five boys killed each of her sons one by one by drowning them in the tub.
