Consumers need to be aware of all the sweet 2 drinks we take in, and realize that we take a lot more in then what we think. As a parent we are told that Gatorade and sports drinks are good for our children, but if you look at the ingredients you will see that they are just as bad. Even the diet sodas are bad for you. People consume most of their calories in sodas and sweet drinks. We need to make these sugary drinks not so easy to buy.
Benefits of Weight Training in Today’s Society Today’s society and possibly always people have had an obsession with body image. Ironically the American population is in an epidemic due to obesity rates and poor health related to diet and exercise. One simple solution to this problem along with proper diet and exercise is resistance or weight training. Not only is this an answer to our obesity problem, it also benefits our society in a voluminous number of ways. In an unfeasible attempt I will try to cover the extraordinary number of benefits of weight training within this paper.
1) Do you think Coca-Cola has used corporate social responsibility principles in addressing the obesity crisis? Explain in detail I believe Coca-Cola has used corporate social responsibility or CSR principles in addressing the obesity crisis. When watching their commercial called ‘Coming together(p.37).’, I realized that Coca-Cola really is trying to make a difference in society. As stated in MKTG, CSR principles are used by managers for ‘the long-range best interests of the company and the company’s relationship to the society within which it operates’. Coca-Cola is probably doing better now and will probably do even better financially in the future because of all their new products.
Ginseng Athletes frequently try to find a substance that gives them an advantage over their opponents. Ergogenic aids are dietary supplements that are claimed to give an extra enhancement for their athletic performance. The most regularly used supplements are anabolic agents, caffeine, ephedra, and ginseng. Most athletes take supplements to boost their energy. Ginseng acts as an immune system stimulant, but does not have an effect on the athlete’s overall performance.
Steven Vuong Professor Vasquez English 101 5 March 2012 Coffee vs. Energy Drinks Nowadays everyone is debating over what kind of drinks to pick to keep them stimulated and going. The two top categories competing would have be coffee and energy drinks. These everyday drinks are usually purchased for the use of staying awake, keeping alert, replenishing, to perform, etc. Caffeine may be the most perfect fitting drug of this age being that it is legal, cheap, and found about anywhere. Caffeine stimulates the central nervous system giving the body a sense of alertness.
In this concept the size zero dream has actually proved to be good for business. It is a well played game with an ongoing cycle. Fast food chains would keep people from losing weight and help them gain more. Media would make people want to lose weight and reach goals that are considered unrealistic for most people. So they refer to the presumably diet versions of products, weight loss products and programs.
Most have ads which feature people who have success stories, though those people are usually the few lucky ones. After finishing one, the majority of people proceed to regain the loss weight, some even adding on extra pounds. Fad diets are just that, fads. They go in and out of style, while the steps to actually being healthy never go out. Many question why a teen with a normal weight would wish to go on a fad diet.
It protects bones, boosts the immune system, keeps the mind young, and aids in weight loss. If people do not like a certain flavor there are many others to choose from, each containing a different substance that will lead to a health advantage. As more discoveries are made about how tea helps health it may begin being used as a medicine. For starters, what is tea? Tea is one of the most ancient and popular beverages consumed around the world.
With the agenda that media of all sorts throws at people everywhere they turn, what does this do to a person’s perception of love, relationships and sex? “The American Culture values connection and intimacy above everything else. Because this culture’s greatest fear is being alone- according to the media in which Americans are constantly immersed” (Kircher & Kircher, 2011, p. 69). Can the very technology that is depended on by this culture help intimacy? In some ways it can, but not without paying the price on relationships.
The culture of celebrity is an increasingly pervasive phenomenon that is made even more treacherous in the fact that it touches almost every American’s life. While many hold the conventional belief that celebrity dogma and vicarious living are mere entertainment and thus harmless, the public’s rising propensity towards celebrity worship and mindless ingestion of manipulated and often inaccurate information set forth by the media and popular public figures greatly contributes to the rising anti-intellectualism, anti-rationalism, and overall incompetence in detecting our willful consumption of junk thought. If society is unable to recognize the repercussions celebrity culture will have on our collective ability to distinguish legitimate news from the erroneous and furthermore continues to advocate a general reluctance to transpose our rapturous enthusiasm from Britney Spears to issues far more worthy of our attention, such as war in Afghanistan, the climbing rates of foreclosure and unemployment, and global warming, the consequences will become progressively severe. The current and future implications of this seemingly innocuous movement include debased public discourse and politics, the proliferation of misinformation and erroneous reports relating to health issues and more, a diversion from intellectual endeavors, and an overall rejection of rationality. Celebrity culture and our nation’s infatuation with it is playing a significant role in producing a generation that is increasingly devoid of a defined criterion to assess the precariousness in conforming to the credo of a dumbed-down society where intellectualism and rationalism have far less value than the recklessly enticing ideas set forth by the mouthpieces of junk thought.
