But college drop outs also can able be due to the unequal college preparation given in high schools. The education system needs to be reformed so students have the opportunity to choose whether they want to go to college or do vocational training instead. A college degree is bringing more negative aspects into a student’s life therefore students, especially from working class, must know the alternatives to be able to succeed. Most of the students in the United States are middle or working class. In addition of going to school, working class students also have to get a job to be able to help out their families.
As I begin this journey to finally complete my BSN, I definitely find that I am already looking forward to being done. I know this is going to be a difficult and busy year ahead, but I look forward to the rewards of a greater flexibility inherent in having a BSN. My managers have been encouraging me to take on more and more responsibilities at work, and grooming me for a management role. Completing this program will prepare me for this role, and I welcome the experience and knowledge I will gain. My greatest fear is not being able to keep up with everything in my life, and that my perfectionistic tendencies will slow me down from completing the work in the time I have.
I have bills that I need to pay or else I wouldn’t have a job. School is so important to me and that’s why this semester I am going to be trying my best to prove that! I must find what interests me so that I can pick a major and know what I want to do in life. There are hundreds of different colleges to choose from so I must choose where to go and research what I need to do in order to get into that college. My SAT scores must be very good in order to get into college so I must study hard for this test. College is very expensive so I must plan and help my parents plan how to financially support the costs of college. I must stay focus when I go away to college and keep my priorities straight.
I would like to work as a crime scene investigator or a detective. I understand this field will take hard work and dedication and I am ready for it. When I picture myself at my dream job I see myself helping solve crimes. I have always enjoyed school and learning new things. Earning my degree online would be great for me so I can still stay home with my children until they are school age.
My career goal is to become a radiographer which my dad first introduced to me and I found rather interesting, but my plan B is social work. My ambition to become a radiographer/social worker; this influences my learning in the sense that it gives me the wish to learn new things and improve my knowledge. I believe that if I did not have such a desire to be a radiographer/social worker, it would affect my learning by creating a mental blockage which would disallow my ability to take things in and learn; I would become lazy and uninterested from the lack of direction in my life as I did last year in A levels. As soon as I realized what I wanted to do as a career, it really shifted my priorities and I found that I have started to focus a lot more on my education and work hard. I have started paying more attention in classes than last year and im trying to produce good assignments which gain me the grades I desire.
