1. Globalization’s impact on consumer preferences has changed the way goods are marketed. Companies are challenged to find appropriate promotional strategies to obtain and maintain market share. Differentiate between the push and pull promotional strategies. Explain the factors that determine whether the push or the pull strategy is appropriate in a given marketing environment. Nowadays there is no strict definition when it comes to promotional strategies, since every company is trying different ways to get the attention of the customers. Companies heavily rely on the promotional strategies for established product or services as well as for their new products and services. Therefore it is clear that the promotional strategies are very important part of every company’s success. The promotional strategies that get the products or services to the market are divided into two separate strategies, push strategy and pull strategy. Every business must decide weather they will use push or pull strategy or maybe both of them. The term 'push strategy' is explaining the process that the company needs to perform in order to get the product to the customer. This can involve setting up distribution channels and persuading middle men and retailers to stock your product”( Push and pull marketing strategies). Therefore, a push strategy places the product in front of the customer, via a form of advertisement, to make sure the consumer is aware of the existence of the product. This type of strategy works well for low value items, the customers that are able to make their decision on the spot and also for companies that already have established their consumers.
