Page #1 My Thought Process I thought that “Getting Coffee Is hard to Do” by Stanley Fish would be the most interesting and easiest essay to write about until I realized that this writing had more to it than just telling us how it is to get coffee. Which, actually, sounds pretty easy to me. Sugar or none? Creamer or non? You know, common sense stuff. To my surprise, this was about more than just getting coffee. This essay is effective because it tells how something once easy has been made difficult. It also tells us how things evolve over time. The obvious reason is that Stanley Fish talks about the difficulties of obtaining a cup of coffee. These days everything is super complicated. Whether its getting a job, buying that new phone, or going to a park. You cant just walk to the park anymore. Unless, you want to walk through…show more content…
Wait at red lights. Wait for people to cross the road. Then, when you get there you will have to wait in a long line for hours. Possibly go to a different Starbucks down the road. And of course, wait a little longer. Next, you will finally be able to see the menu. You will now decide what you want and place your order. Lastly, you will pay around nine dollars for a steaming “cup of joe” that you could have simply made in the comfort of your own home, without all the madness. This essay opened my eyes to really realize how much things have changed and how many things evolve. Including small everyday things such as coffee. Change can be good and bad, but for coffee lovers, this essay was very easy to relate to. Personally, coffee is not a daily routine for me.
