Finally, Brady needs to forgive himself for not shouting a warning to the red kayak. Brady feels like its his fault that Ben died because he did not warn the kayak earlier that day. Forgiving himself for listening to his friends and not cautioning the kayak is the only way Brady will be able to move on with his life.

In homers epic poem “The Odyssey,” Odysseys in one motion strung the bow”(1005) he is being compared to haper because he has power at stringing the bow, while Odysseus tries to save his shipmates, homer describes Odysseus’s feelings at sea “while he fought only to save his life to bring his shipmates home.”(963) He shows how he can do everything by himself. In the end, Odysseus was a honorable hero, was proven. He showed great leadership, bravery, and strength throughout the whole poem.

As one of Holden’s closest friends during his innocent childish stages in life, Jane Gallagher has a big involvement in his inability to let go of the past. As children Holden and Jane were very close. As Holden begins to mature slowly, he always remembers Jane as an innocent person because that is how he knows her.

His tutor, Pangloss educates him that their world is “the best of all possible.” Candide is expelled from his adopted childhood home because he is caught with the Baron’s daughter in a romantic position. So he travels around the world and meets with a variety of misadventures. He had confidence and safety in following Cungegonde, the women he loved and aims to achieve her. His reliance in Pangloss’ straight optimism is frequently tested.
Amir commits this act of dishonesty when he lies to Baba claiming that Hassan stole his birthday money and watch but in reality it was Amir who put the items under Hassan’s bed. Hassan then admits to stealing the money and Amir then realizes that Hassan saw him in the alley. This immediately affects Amir’s character as he becomes even more miserable as he is now consumed by the guilt that Hassan knew about his inaction to help him all along. Furthermore Baba becomes upset and ashamed of Amir after the departure of Ali and Hassan when Amir asks him if he “thought about getting new servants” (Hosseini, 95). Amir’s guilt leads him to things that result in losing Baba’s approval and respect as seen at his birthday party when he “took the box from Assef and lowered his gaze” (Hosseini, 103).
