Food and Cultural Customs Food is the most basic need of an individual. It is necessary for our body to be able to function and perform our every activities. Being the foremost need on a person, we have different preferences for the food we want. In food preparation, we use different methods as we come from different culture. Since I come from an Asian country, our food was influenced by people who colonized our country . It is a mix of Spanish, Japanese, American, and Chinese flavours. In every Filipino gathering like birthdays, child baptism, fiesta and all other occasions the table is always laden with home- cook foods. Filipino tradition when it comes to birthday is great we need to have some foods at the table to have a complete family. "Pansit" is one of the most popular food when it comes to birthday because of those belief we have if we have it in our birthday it will make our life longer because of the strands of the pasta of the "pansit" it was adopted by Chinese belief. Filipino tradition i guess is one of the great traditions because it focuses on happiness and enjoying especially when it comes to holidays and birthdays. In celebrating a first child's baptism it is not much different from a birthday especially if it is a boy. Parent as well as grandparents help each other in mounting this celebration. They prepare many dishes to add color to the occasion. If they have enough money, they will roast a pig or call it "lechon". This symbolize joy and happiness for the family because their first born son became a Catholic In religious festivities like celebrating the feast of patron saint of the town people do prepare food too. we call it a fiesta and the whole townspeople are invited to the house. We coke using eastern jars which they say brings out the real flavor of the food. We even invite relatives to help with the preparation and this occasion
