Kristlyn Dibert Self-Evaluation Journal #1 After working two jobs doing two completely different things, I can say I think I have a pretty good idea of the type of worker I am. My first job was working in Murf’s Catering at Delgrosso’s Amusement Park in Tipton, PA. I worked there for three years and it was a good job to have to start my process of real life jobs. I learned to be more vocal because while serving food, I had to talk to each person that came by. I learned to be a leader because I became what we call, “head of the line.” As “head of the line” I was in charge of at least three other co-workers and I had to get everything ready for the picnics and then I had to help customers, collect tickets, and help serve food when
How did you get into this field? I previously worked at Ryerson as a HR Assistant, and with that experience I updated my resume with the help of the services offered at Ryerson to students. Eventually, when I graduated I applied on all Internet job sites I could possibly find. After posting my resume on Monster jobs I was contacted by Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. for an interview, and I completely forgot I had even posted it there. My interview was a success and now I have been working for Broadridge about a year and a half now.
For managers, their performances were reviewed weekly and the results were openly displayed at the cafeteria. Another tool used by Haier was the performance appraisal system the top 10% were promoted and bottom 10% were sent back to the training at the expense of the company. After this training if they again come under the bottom 10% then they were again given leave and this time they went to training but on their own expense. In the third review if they again come in to the bottom 10% then they were fired. Moreover, all the employees were treated as separate company and they have their different accounts and profit and loss statement.
The Boys & Girls Club ran several different sports programs so I was always there. One year a month or so before summer I was about fifteen (15). The Director made an announcement that they will be hiring a teen to run the lunch program for the summer. At that time the opportunity seemed perfect, but the only problem was that I wasn’t the only person interested. ---What should I do---- Later on day all I could think about was how could I get that job.
One reason is because it’s priceless being that it is printed out on all our customer receipts. The second reason is because it will bring people back to our restaurant or at least consider it. The final reason is that it will bring customers here during lunch hours. For many restaurants, there slowest hours are during the day so we figure that giving them this coupon to use before 3PM any day of the week will give us busier lunch hours and higher revenues each day of operation. I’ve seen this idea used in many famous restaurants like Cheesecake Factory, Starbucks, fast food places and
Francine was just hired as clerical support in the Health Information Management (HIM) department; she has had two weeks of training in all the job would require. This is Francine first time this type of work, she is just overwhelmed from everything she has been taught during her training. She is confused over some of the information she was told about, she did not understand the entire information on the HIPAA. Francine did not ask anyone about the information she was confused on, she went on with her work and tried to do her work the best she could or knew
Before I finished the high school, I started to work for a big tools company as a salesman helper (where I learned many new things). After one year I had, the opportunity to become a salesman. That job gave me many opportunities to continue studying because I had a flexible schedule. I finished high-school, and I drop out of school for two years because I liked to make money and I forget the school. Fortunately I changed my mind and went back to school to finish the university.
My coach started to ring the items as I stood there and watched. She explained that I should scan every item no matter how many of the same items the person has. Lastly ,my coach let me do it and told me that I would have the hang of the register in no time and would be able to be on my own very soon. The next day I was told to arrive to work at 11:30am and will be on the register alone. When I arrived the first thing I did was to count my till to make sure there was one-hundred dollars to start off with .I headed for register two, calling out “next”, letting the customer know that I was ready.
My First Job I moved to Oshkosh, Wisconsin for the last two months of my senior year. I moved there so that I could graduate from high school on time. My aunt graciously invited me to live with her family. After registering for school, my next priority was finding a job-- any job! I started the search!
