Starting my first job as a cashier can be a scary experience. One of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do was communicate with the public.I was always afraid of my own voice, but I recognized communication was an important skill I should learn.I also thought that it would be a valuable change and help me become heavily free to communicating with the public. What I didn't realize was that communication can build confidence and open many door to careers. New situations always make me a bit concerned ,and my first job as a cashier was no exception. After counting my till, I stood safely at the bottom of the stock room stairs waiting for my coach to come down. A few minutes later my coach came over. She smiled and introduced herself, and the two of us walked to the front of the store where the cash registers are located. There stood two already confident young ladies at register one and two. I stood at cash register three with my coach as she call out “Next”. As the customer proceed to the register, I started to feel a hint of anxiety . My coach started to ring the items as I stood there and watched. She explained that I should scan every item no matter how many of the same items the person has. Lastly ,my coach let me do it and told me that I would have the hang of the register in no time and would be able to be on my own very soon. The next day I was told to arrive to work at 11:30am and will be on the register alone. When I arrived the first thing I did was to count my till to make sure there was one-hundred dollars to start off with .I headed for register two, calling out “next”, letting the customer know that I was ready. The customer put her things on my register and I began to ring up the items one by one taking my time with every item. I get to my tenth customer and everything fails. There were somethings that my coach just didn't get around
