Bailey Myers Writing 10/28/11 Definition Paper Euphoria There are a wide range of emotions and feelings that people will experience throughout their lifetime; hate, love, happiness, depression. However, one of the most sought out feelings people try to experience is euphoria. Euphoria can be explained simply as the utmost and purest form of bliss. When in a euphoric state one shall feel groundless or disproportionate to its’ cause, meaning feeling comfortable and healthy all while in an ecstatic state. People often go to great lengths to experience euphoria, whether it be meditation or the taking of illegal substances to receive a metaphoric high. It is easy to see why people go to great lengths to experience this feeling. It is, as stated earlier, the purest feeling you will ever encounter.…show more content…
Like the Buddhist monks that have been practicing these ways since birth, nirvana acts as an incarnation to the brain and envelopes with euphoria. It is the religious ways of these monks to use meditation to achieve this state of mind and euphoric state. Most people do not obtain the patience needed to enter this state, therefore that is the reason why euphoria is so idealistic and impractical. There are two main types of euphoria; exercise induced and pharmacologically induced. Exercise induced euphoria exhibits high levels of endorphins, which are used in the frontal region of the brain, giving off positive signals to the rest of the body. In some studies, runners experience such ridiculous euphoric endorphins that it is often the reason why they get the “runners’ high” because of the amount of endorphins running through the body. Running helps benefit the conditions of depression and anxiety due to the ridiculous amount of euphoric stimulants
