Ethics Reflection Tamicka Wilson STR/581 October 13, 2014 Kenneth Kobus Ethics Reflection Ethics is the branch of philosophy when dealing with the values related to human conduct, with respect to the rightness and wrongness of certain actions and to the goodness and badness of the motives and ends of such actions. (2014). In today’s society knowing the ethical and social responsibilities is very important when it comes to any organization. Today I will explain the role of ethics and social responsibilities in developing a strategic plan, and also considering the need for the stakeholders. In addition, I will also discuss my perspective based upon the Ethical Awareness Inventory and the Ethical Choices in the Workplace. Strategic management is defined as the set of decisions and actions that result in the formulation and implementation of plans designed to achieve a company’s objectives. (Pearce & Robinson, 2013). Ethical factors have a huge impact on the way businesses are run in today’s corporation. In addition, with the way executives are showing or making ethical decisions will somewhat create a problem with the stakeholders of the business. Company stakeholders are not merely investors in a company stakeholders typically have voting power that can influence the social and financial impact of a company. With this voting power comes a social responsibility to the employees and customers. Stakeholders must consider more than just the company’s bottom line when using their influence to shape company goals. (Marquis, 2014). Most company’s value their ethical decisions because it means that they are doing what is best for the company and also their employees.
