A study from Enzine Article shows that, “Children with a missing father are two times more likely to drop out of high school or obtain a higher education.” A college education can become problematic for a child without a father for two reasons. While many single parent moms do heroic work parenting their children, the first is the inability of the mother to afford the costs of a college education. In addition, it also common for absent fathers to decline to pay for a child's college or higher education, even if they have been providing the funds for the regular child support. The second reason is more relevant to daughters than to sons. Women tend to lose a sense of security when they lack a father figure at younger ages.
Teachers Deserve to Get Paid More In the essay, “America Skips School,” by Benjamin Barber, Barber argues that American children are learning the wrong lessons outside of school and that society doesn’t care. He gives statistics that show how bad the American education system is. For example, Barber states that simple literacy is not efficient in over ninety-million adult Americans. Many children either become drop-outs or become criminals, and those who choose to stay in school are falling behind the world standard in science education. Children don’t listen to their school teachers as much as they listen to society.

Teenagers of America are obsessed with social networking sites and online gaming. Literally right this second thousands of little kids are becoming obese from little to no physical activity in their daily lives. Parents aren’t helping the matter either, whether it’s because they’re uninformed or they just don’t care about getting their children involved; they aren’t doing their jobs as parents of America. This is not teaching their children to grow up to be incredible leaders of our country. According to source A, “Community Service embodies experiential learning, locating a moral center, community health, because it is about empowerment and making the world a better place…” Yet, each day kids are becoming lazier and lazier because they don’t understand the importance of volunteer work and community service.
Other disadvantages from this situation can be that sometimes a single parent can’t afford expensive holidays which would make the child feel left out when they are talking about events when after coming back from their holidays and are asked to write or tell about what happened during the school holidays. The child will lose their self confidence and moral will be low if all the factors above do occur, they may also get jealous of other children who could be in a better situation because of the financial stability brought by having both the parents being together. When a student faces the trouble of needing to drop out to support ones family, it seems practically impossible to not choose family over school and education. Learning disabilities cannot go un-noticed; they have taken a big role in students quitting high school. When a student feels dumb and tries hard but always falls behind his fellow classmen it is extremely hard to go through every day. Problems like dyslexia and even ADHD tend to

Children, who have both parents are less likely to get into much trouble as far as school or in the streets or influenced by their peers. A number of studies suggest they also are more sociable and popular with other children their age and throughout their adulthood. Moreover, there are fathers, who may detached themselves from their children because they may have had issue within themselves, this may be due to their own childhood experiences with their own parents or father preventing them from getting involved the way they should. These fathers love their kids without a doubt but, they just don’t know how to show it. However, research shows that fathers reinforce development when they take a vigorous roles early in the lives of their children.
Children whose parents divorce will be more likely to be isolated and antisocial than sociable and integrate. If there is no contact with one of the parents, the child misses out on that parent’s knowledge and skills. This is a big loss to the child especially if the only parent in their life has a serious lack in parental
Family circumstances can be a major cause of poverty. This begins when the parents are unmotivated and unwilling to show his or her child that working hard is the only way to succeed and have an improved life style. Parents in middle-class homes may also contribute to poverty by giving their child too much and never making them work or figure things out for themselves. Another family related matter for people that live in poverty is coming from dysfunctional families. The children of those damaged families may have been a victim of mental and physical abuse; consequently, those children now have grown into adults and he or she may have low self-esteem.
