Education is the process of imparting knowledge from a source to a student and others learners. Knowledge can be transmitted to students and other learners through books and practical experience. Books are more passive, writers tend to impart their knowledge or skills directly to the readers through reading and understanding the contents of the book. Practical experience is important in certain fields to give students or learners hands on experience. General research on the life of most successful people has shown that books provide understanding upon which experience is built. The use of books in every institution has been made an important aspect because without books, quality education cannot be achieved. For instance, there are situations where you have to read a book first to learn the required manual skills before applying what has been read practically. We should consider a situation in which education comes from practical experience and not from books. Experiential learning is superior in most instances of education, because of the higher level of engagement of students that leads to better retainment.. Many students volunteer take up jobs to learn certain values, handling the public and developing social skills that are not clearly represented in books. Another example is in medical education. Medical students in human anatomy class are not restricted only to book s but have labs to give a big picture and learn visual skills and orientation of the major organ systems and organs. Although it may be learnt from books, practical applications of the knowledge must be learnt as well to become a well rounded physician.
