Diversity works to change the culture of that organization. Diversity realizes the value in a mixture of varying cultures, backgrounds, and experiences. So, instead of accomplishing the diversity of college students admitted, it is acting as reverse discrimination. What is affirmative action though; it is the practice, which emerged in the 1960s as a result of efforts by the civil rights movement to get America to honor its original contract, that "all (people)are created equal." This process is done usually by institutions of giving preference to racial minorities or women when hiring, giving awards, or deciding whom to admit.
To cut the story short, the minority may have better academic scores or performances, they need to face the reality that opportunities of employment and promotion are still being mainly preserved for the white. So, before discussing the racial, gender makeup of the police force resemble the makeup of the community it serves, we cannot oversee the obstacles of the minority of being put and promoted in certain selected career field. If we trace the growing diversity that now exists in American police departments, meanwhile, we will not be surprised that the disparity and ratio of racial, ethnic, gender makeup of the police force to the communities is outstanding. All police departments are called on to enforce the laws and maintain public safety and public order. In order to better facilitate public safety and serve the communities, better strategic designs, tactical approaches, organizational structuring are expected.
The Wave prevented students from thinking and acting as individuals. This is evident in the novel when each student was expected to believe and value the same salutes and mottoes as part of the Wave. Not only were students expected to act and think alike; but the individuals who refused to believe in the Wave’s requirements were rejected by the group, resulting to isolation. As stated by Laurie, ‘The Wave has become an obsession... no one is thinking for themselves anymore,’ this quote represents the loss of individuality as students were brainwashed into thinking certain things regarding the Wave. Not only was the loss of individuality an effect of the Wave, but the way the students interacted with one another was also affected.
The advertisement “did you ever see a fat Chinese”, it basically saying that the food the Americans eating is very unhealthy and fat and although it’s a little bit racist but it makes the Americans jealous and they will stop eating oily fast foods. There is one more kind of advertisement where they just offend the other race. For example, the advertisement on the left, it’s just an advertisement offending the black people. They make the white people as the angel and the black people as the devil. That will make the white people to hate the black people without any reason and at the same time to make them feel proud as a white people.
Suspension and Expulsion are not of use to improve our schools! Suspensions and expulsions are both disciplines that are given to students for their disruptive behaviors and actions. Even our own principal in our school disagrees; suspension and expulsion should be used. (Dale) Suspension and expulsion are not the solution to the problem because too much of these two can lead to dropout rates, it causes negative behavior to students, suspension and expulsion can stop future crimes and learn from their actions and students are not learning properly and not gaining any benefit from their education. Suspension and expulsion is not an effective tool and solution in our schools because it can lead to dropout rates and other violent crimes in the future.
Despite the disagreements, strict disciplinary actions need to be enforced in schools to avoid bullying; because, it disrupts the learning environment, causes future disadvantages, and makes the victims become emotionally unstable. To begin with, not having strict disciplinary actions enforced in schools causes bullying to disrupt the learning environment. For example, victims of bullying find it impossible to concentrate in class while their bully is distracting them: This shows that not having strict disciplinary actions enforced in school could make many victims of bullying adapt school phobia. Additionally, fights in school that both the bully, and victim engages in diverts both of them from their learning process; this demonstrates, not having strict disciplinary actions in school is not only disruptive, but also dangerous. Lastly, constant fights, suspensions, or lack of the ability to cooperate in school with other students, makes it hard for bullies to apply for other schools due to their behavioral issues.
This shows that children would most likely taunt the students who do not have the appropriate ‘fashionable’ clothing, and those who do not have enough money to purchase the brand name clothes, would feel barred from the sociable assembly. Bullies often look for someone who does not belong to a certain community, an ‘outsider’. Implementing school uniforms could make this situation have a less chance to occur. If all students are obliged to wearing uniforms, bullies will less likely single out a person who has a difference ‘style’ or ‘brand’. “Teenagers who took part in
The behavior by bullies then is virtually encouraged as students become afraid or feel that the administration will not react appropriately should they inform them of a bulling situation. Students at this age will make mistakes and react inappropriately occasionally in response to a bullying situation if they feel there is no help from the school. Clearly each incident needs to be investigated and any punishment should be appropriate based on the circumstances involved. It is clear the principles only goal in dealing with behavior issues in the school is to indentify, isolate, intimidate, and remove. This simply will not work if no effort is made to correctly indentify were and with who the problem started.
Although it wouldn’t be helpful to the school as they wouldn’t be able to see from that data who the truant students are. Another limitation is that you are dealing with a vulnerable group, therefor consent will have to be received from either the administration or from the school office. This would limit the amount of subjects you can study, and the quantity of data collected. So reliability would ultimately be affected. Furthermore, students have classes to take part it, so it would affect the participants in that they are spending time answering a questionnaire a posed to actually doing classwork.
But the students were right to put their opinion and feelings out there. Well, most of us will say separation is unreal to the real world and separation will limit the social activity. By separating the sexes, it sends a message that boys and girls needed to be treated differently, and are therefore unequal. May we all agree that separating the classroom will cause a problem for students who are use to see the opposite sex in their classrooms everyday. First off if you separate the classrooms wouldn’t that led to separating the school?
