The organizations are continuing to become more diverse as women, minority-group members, international workers and seniors flood the workforce. Moreover, in many large urban centers such as Miami, New York and Los Angeles, the workforce is already at least half composed of minorities. Women with children under age of six have also been one of the widest growing segments. Additionally, as the workforce gets older, workers are more likely to remain employed well past their retirement age. Diverse workplace poses both challenges and opportunities for the leaders. With an effective management can bring innovation and creativity in companies and improve decision making processes within the organizations by providing multiple viewpoints on problems. A diverse workforce, being the reflection of the society itself, is better able to serve the needs of organizations and its customers.
