Parents and children may need help to overcome the bad feelings. Mental health professionals can educate parents about ADHD and how it impacts a family. They also will help the child and his or her parents develop new skills, attitudes, and ways of relating to each other. Downs Syndrome Down syndrome, also known as Down’s syndrome, is a genetic condition that usually causes some level of learning disability and a range of physical features. Most babies born with Down syndrome are diagnosed after birth and will be likely to have hypotonia which is reduced muscle tone leading to floppiness, eyes that slant upwards and outwards, palmar crease which is when their palm may have only one crease across it, a below average weight and length at birth.
In Erikson’s view he sees these conflicts centered around developing a psychological quality or failing to develop that quality. Erikson’s theory is stage theory based on the assumption that development is universal and although there may be individual differences in terms of when and how it is experienced everyone in the end should develop and go through the same stages. In our world today, Erikson’s theory is often questioned due to the growing cross-cultural evidence that people in different cultures develop and go through different experiences and stages in life. Erikson’s fifth stage of his theory is the most controversial and fought over stage. Coming from a family that has a history with mental disorder - my sister’s bipolar - it didn’t come as a shock for me to be plagued by the same mental warfare that my sister underwent. My experience with depression was a brief one, having experienced it for only a lengthy week. Anna however, has been battling clinical depression for almost eight years now. Anna has been battling depression since she was ten, although she was only professionally diagnosed when she was a mere fifteen year old.
There are ordinary people of society, only with special care needs. One of the most common known drug out there to help in controlling these conditions is Ritalin. Ritalin has had some successful stories, but there are other stories of how people would take their children off the drug due to the side effects and differences they noticed in their children after a long period of time. According to The American Psychological Association, a Dr. Peter Jensen conducted a period of trials on children to see if the medication actually worked and how well it worked. It came back a year later that only 60% of these children that were treated were successful, while the rest failed, but it is stated that this medication is not for everyone and does have severe side effects.
I view myself as a very honest, strong and sensible person when it comes to both at work everyday life and academic environments. Which I learned this behavior from my parents in my younger childhood days. I was always taught this saying, “Treat others the way you expect to be treated.” So senses then I have always treated others equally. My ethical I have gained through my life experiences I will include my personal behaviors, respect, commitment, accountability, values, and caring into every aspect in life. I will always conduct myself at a point of mortality and ethics as it is measured by code of conduct both at work and in everyday life, and how I will conduct myself in a professional manner to be supportive with co-workers and fellow students while in school.

At age 14, just when Ben is perceived as “stable” on his lithium, and his Prozac, he kills himself. Carlson details her viewpoint on suicide prevention; and it is insightful. She proposes age-appropriate self-tests and workbooks that allow a child to answer questions regarding his/her state of mind. She emphasizes the need for schools to extend the hearing and vision testing in the schools to expand into this realm of testing.
The family’s seven year old daughter has been diagnosed with epilepsy. The doctors have tried everything they know to do. The medications barely help and have such serious side effects. The little girl health is deteriorating. The mom stated that one year ago her daughter was able to write her name, however, now the 7 year old girl can no longer write her name.

In the past 11 years, things have changed a great deal. No one predicted teenagers could get so much information on the internet. Sarah Stiles is an upcoming sophomore in high school that takes birth control for medical reasons. In order to conduct the interview I had to give her information regarding the birth control movement so she could answer the questions. There was a total of seven questions asked with the first one being: Can you describe a significant historical event that you feel influenced contemporary culture? Her reply was “ Yes, the birth control movement in the late 1800's to the present day (Personal Communication, May, 2013). During the time period of the late 1800's, women were not allowed to enjoy intercourse and men did not care about the feelings of women (Personal Communication, May, 2013).The birth control movement gave women an opportunity to become independent of their choices and put them in control of when they have children (Personal Communication, May, 2013).
