Children’s belief may cause them emotional conflict when they want to participate in some physical activities which go against their family’s wishes or religious beliefs. Having a new step-family is a big change for some children, this may affect their emotional development, as they may feel as if there mother/father is replacing each other.Coming from a low income family may a significant effect on a child’s development. Children who came from deprived backgrounds are less likely to thrive and achieve well in a school. Family may not be able to afford to pay for extra activities such as swimming lessons or dance lessons, this could an affect child’s physical development.Having numerous siblings can have an impact on children development. Children may feel frustrated with lack of attention.
P1 Outline why children and young people may need to be looked after away from their families Interviewer: Why do you think some children need to be looked after by the state? Interviewee: I think some children need to be looked after by the state because of family breakdown. Bereavement/loss of the parent as it is the hardest thing to deal with especially when there is a child involved. This will be hard for the parent as they have lost their partner and know they have to look after the child on their own. This may cause difficulties because the child could become neglected.
Children who have run away behaviour those parents find difficult to manage alone. Also children who truancy off school is another behaviour that may lead to the child’s needs to be placed in the foster care systems. Deaths: Sometimes children have to be put in care because family are unable to care for the child after the death of a parent children maybe looked after by the local authority most often it is because the child’s parents or the people who have parental responsibilities and rights to look after the child are unable to care for them. Sometimes this is learned behaviour from home and is hard for young children to understand that you are telling them it is not okay to call names because of someone’s skin colour or how they look . It is important to be consistent and reinforce that it’s not okay and it is very upsetting and hurtful. How would they feel if they were left out. We need to teach our children empathy from an early age and to respect each other regardless of race, age, gender, how we look, where were from. 2.2 Any form of prejudice and discrimination can have a severe negative effect throughout a person’s life.
Children are hindered by these kinds of schools, teachers and peers lay a big role in the children’s lives. Some teachers are there for the income it will bring into their house hold and not the well-being of the child and students are pressued by their peers into thinking that education is lame and for losers. In most cases this is what children of low income go through but not all. Many may not realize that the surroundings of children may sometimes affect their future. Being raised in a low income area surrounded by people living the same lifestyle as you as if struggling is the norm of society.
Disorganized relationships. Disorganized children don’t know what to expect from their parents. Children with relationships in the other categories have organized attachments. This means that they have all learned ways to get what they need, even if it is not the best way. This happens because a child learns to predict how his parent will react, whether it is positive or negative.
It may be with the local authorities or a family relative or friend. If the illness is permanent and leaves the parent/ guardian unable to care for the child, then permanent care may be put in place. Child related reasons; Behavioural problems Children may need to be looked after as a consequence of their own actions. If a child’s behaviour cannot be managed and controlled by their parents/ guardians and is causing stress and ill health to anyone in the household then they may require them to be looked after by someone other than their parents/guardians. Learning difficulties Children with learning difficulties present their own problems and challenges; some families are unable to cope with these challenges and may place their child in respite care.
For example... there are children who have parents who care about meet all their needs and sometimes confused wanting to give the material to show affection to their children and believing that that is the kind of attention they need. For example... There are children where parents are concerned about their needs and sometimes too much and they develop in the children an excess of attention and when they attend school they expect the same attention from their teachers and when they cannot obtain it creates conflict in the classroom and between classmates avoiding the good development of the activities. So it is important that the child or adolcente know its limits inside and outside the Home. Health.- It is important that a child has a healthy diet,sleep well,play sports,and do other activities that help them in their physical,intellectual and emotional development.
This can be a result of laziness or even shame. Often times, a rough home life may be the reason for a child to do poorly academically. These days, many children do not have what used to be considered a common home life, with two parents in the home. In these situations, the student should not be allowed to coast through school with nothing but sympathy. Instead, the child’s home life should be taken into consideration, and dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
