It was originally built as a women's residence hall and remained so until 1980 when it became co-ed. Named after Dr. Elizabeth Peet who practically grew up in the Deaf Community. Her mother was deaf and her father was an educator of the Deaf. Her grandfather and father were successive principals of the New York School for the Deaf. After passing the Harvard entrance examinations, she stayed with her father until his death in 1889 and her mother passed on in 1891.

Janet was born on September 21st, 1918, at Coleman Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Omer and Zella Eisenhower.
African-American women are not an exception to other people who have goals, and Dr. Ramona H. Edelin is a great example. Edelin was born in Los Angeles on September 4, 1945. At an early age, her family relocated to Georgia, where she attended elementary school, and then graduated from Stockbridge High School in Massachusetts in 1963. She then attended Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee earning her BA (Bachelor of Arts). Ramona later resumed her education, completing a Ph.D. at Boston University in 1981, an outstanding accomplishment.
Her mom was a nurse trying to help the family. Edna’s mother encouraged her kids to be independent and appreciate books and music. When Edna was in high school, she was interested in theater. She performed many plays and even wrote a Halloween play that her classmates performed. When she was 20 she entered a poem called “Renascence” in a contest in which 100 poems were picked to be published.

Although Miley Cyrus maintains the same singing and acting abilities; her image has dramatically changed over the years influencing today’s society. Hannah Montana was a popular show in which a normal teenager girl, Miley, would transform into world renown pop-sensation Hannah Montana by night. Miley played Hannah Montana on and off the air, traveling across the globe wearing a blonde wig, performing in front of millions of young girls who were crazy for her. Miley sang songs which related to girls ages 12 and younger.
Janissa Saracino Musical Theater History October 21, 2009 Fanny Brice: The Journey of a 'Funny Girl' Comedienne, actress, radio star and mother, these were just some of the traits of the all around entertainer, Fanny Brice. She brought sparkle to the darkest songs and laughter to unknown depths. Starting as a vaudeville performer and working her way up to scale to a Zeigfield Follie was quite the journey for a lady to accomplish in a life. But somehow, someway Fanny got through it all and seemed to have a ripple effect on peoples lives. Even today, she is know known even if you don't know who she was.
Sue Thomas is an American woman who became the first deaf person to work as an undercover investigator, conducting surveillance by reading lips for the FBI. Speech Therapist helped her develop her voice and become an expert lip reader. It was this experience that made Sue the inspiration for the television show Sue Thomas: F.B. EYE. (Sue was played by Deanne Bray, who is also deaf).

In “You Can Never Have Too Many,” Jane Smiley thanks Barbie for the effect she had on her daughter’s lives as they were growing up to be young adults; by teaching them the feminine side of woman at an early stage, which ultimately allowed their minds to have a lot more options when it really came down to figuring out who they wanted to be at an adult stage. Smiley however, does not effectively support this argument because she gives a lot of credit to Barbie for the way her daughters turn out to be but she’s forgetting

Demi starred in Camp Rock with the Jonas brothers, and also ended up getting her own TV series called "Sonny With a Chance." In 2012 Demi got hired as a judge on the 2nd season of the X-Factor.
