No culture is impervious to change. As our needs and drives change, our culture change too. While some changes are for betterment of our society, some are not. On the brighter side, cultural change fasters understanding and tolerance among the members of a society and also between the different societies. When we feel that our culture is no longer fitting in the society, we change it because we consider the the people living around us. To avoid the tensions and strains we modify our culture to better suit the time and situation. We recognize the need for the humans to live harmoniously with each other, so in order to preserve unity, we change the aspects that might be offensive to people of other cultures. The changes in cultural aspect also forms a homogenous society. This is good because it resulted in one common culture among a group of people. Take the Malaysian culture as example. The Malaysian culture is made up of many subcultures because of the multi-racial society. These society made changes in their because they need to live with the other societies. In the end, the Malaysian society is formed with traits of different societies. On the contrary, cultural changes is accompanied by changes in values. When a society’s cultural changes, the values it held with change too. For example, our precious culture stresses on piety, respect and love for one another. But now due to our demanding lifestyle we often forget to teach our children and ourselves to be respectful and polite to one another. Our society is facing a case of moral decay and it is evident on our daily lives. We often addresses people by their names instead of using a polite ways of addressing it. We rarely smile at each other and we are happy to be confined in the safety of homes. In addition to that, cultural change also results in a culture losing its originality. When to many changes and
