What roles do they play in shaping public policy? - Interest groups manipulate the public policy by lobbying by their own special interest that think have thought about. The main way they have an effect on public policy, they supply evidence to the legislators/ the political parties.
Some pay more attention than others, but they all have to consider the views of the folks back home. Congress is also organized primarily along party lines, so party membership is an important determinant of a member’s vote. Each party develops its own versions of many important bills, and party leaders actively pressure members to vote according to party views. It is not surprising that representatives and senators vote along party lines about three-fourths of the time. Finally, what if a representative or senator seriously disagrees with the views of his or her constituents on a particular issue?

With Obama done in 2016, and with Clinton and Obama having a stronger and more cordial professional relationship and it wouldn’t be surprising to see an endorsement from President Barack Obama. As we are learning, many women, African Americans, Hispanics, and other minorities are liberal and support the Democratic Party and since the House and Senate are controlled by Republicans, it’s important for any Democratic candidate to gain as much support as possible; since Clinton is planning to run the vote by women will play an integral role in this next election. Obama immediately brought up the Lilly Ledbetter act which was the first bill he signed when he came into office. The act opens up limitations on pay discrimination lawsuits filed after a period of time. Passing bills like the Lilly Ledbetter act is the right step women need in this economy. President Obama says this is not just a women’s issue, but a family and middle class issue as well. Another issue brought up by Mr. Obama is insurance companies should provide contraceptives to anyone being insured.
Her presidency would mark a historic presidential breakthrough for women. She would be a role model and inspiration for millions of women young and old in the world's top political power spot. There's the perception that she has the political savvy to wage the blood battles with a GOP-controlled Congress. There's also the political reality about the shape of a Clinton White House. She is a moderate, centrist Democrat who will give a hard nod to the interests of minorities, gays and women.

There are more women than men in the United States (Howden & Meyer, 2011, Page 2) and yet men are still known as superior. The 2012 presidential election is coming up and issues are beginning to arise about the Republican Party and their “War on Women”. There are roughly ten issues at hand that republicans are proposing that seem to attack women’s rights (Stop the War on Women, What’s at Stake, 2012, Para.1). In order to better understand the conflict, this paper will analyze the conflict explaining the background, the parties involved and the issues that are causes this feud.
For some, pressure groups are a fundamental part of democracy. To others, pressure groups undermine the whole principle of democracy. Democracy is a system of government where decisions are arrived at by majoritarian principles with representatives elected at periodic elections where political equality and political freedom allow the voter an effective choice between competing candidates in a secret ballot. How do pressure groups fit in with this concept? In the pluralist model of democracy, pressure groups play an essential role.
