The current continuous improvement processes in place within my organisation ensure that it has the ability to remain competitive in today’s business environment. The following functions and behaviours are currently in place: • Customer-driven orientation • Customer satisfaction endorsed as the number one priority for the organisation • Constant focus given to meeting customer needs • Continuous improvement a part of all activities • The organisation recognising that product quality is dependent on process quality • A process of measurement existing to enable comparison of actual business performance against the expected outcomes and against the performance of other organisations • A focus on the elimination of waste, rework and errors • The consistent use of problem-solving techniques to address issues and prevent recurrence • Statistical data and analysis used to monitor and review the quality of processes within the organisation • Key performance indicators linked directly to customer satisfaction and the associated outcomes 2.) ‘In order to achieve improvement in quality, continuous improvement must be a key part of the organisational culture.’ Discuss this statement in the context of how continuous improvement enables the organisation to improve the processes and systems successfully and reliably. Continuous Improvement is key part of the organisational culture. It is an ongoing process of activities and initiatives adopted by organisations to
1. Introduction Continuous improvement can be defined the never-ending effort to expose and eliminate root causes of contingencies to improve products, services and systems. These changes are often incremental and are achieved by constantly evaluating and monitoring current processes to identify which areas should be improved upon. Continuous improvement is also sometimes referred to by the Japanese word 'Kaizen' meaning to "change for the better". Kaizen effectively leads to better customer focus, improvement in the quality of goods/services, higher productivity and fewer defects among many other benefits making it a pivotal focus in the long-term competitive strategy of any organization.
How can an organisation encourage suppliers—both internal and external—to participate in actively ensuring quality standards are maintained so that fewer customer complaints are likely? The way to assure your suppliers will provide you with quality goods and services is to form a customer-supplier partnership with them. You can that by working together, sharing motivation for quality goods, and helping each other to do a good job. Introduction In any business or job situation, your prime goals to satisfy your customer with quality goods and services. But in order to effectively satisfy your customer, it's essential your suppliers also provide you with quality goods and services.
If you have struggled with a situation, look back over it and think about what you could have done differently to improve your experience. Always think about how you are working, are you dealing with the situations you are in in the best possible way for you and the individuals involved. 1.2 Explain the importance of reflective practice in continuously improving the quality of service provided Reflective practice helps improve the quality of service provided by continuously evaluating the way in which we work and seeking ways of improving it. By thinking about how we have worked we can identify any problem areas and tackle them. Recognising when or if we are struggling can help with dealing with problems.
The three types of costs associated with quality considerations are prevention costs, appraisal costs, and internal/external failure costs. Prevention costs are the most effective way to mitigate problems with production quality. Prevention costs are comprised of processes the organization can take to proactively avoid defects. For example, we should ensure our employees have the right tools for their jobs; they have safe working conditions; all new employees are properly trained, and existing employees are continually trained in their areas of responsibility. The Prevention costs will help the organization by providing our employees the tools, training, and procedures needed to reduce the amount of defective products coming off of our assembly lines.
Both also buy into the idea that autonomy is what drives them. Like Drucker, Hammer (2004) stresses the importance of defining the task of the knowledge worker. Defining the task of the knowledge worker is important because it is necessary for expectations to be established (Drucker, 1999). And because the knowledge worker is not programmed by the defined task, the task can change. While Drucker (1999) attempts to establish a way to measure productivity, Hammer (2004) suggests that the productivity of the knowledge worker should not be measured, but rather measure the productivity of the organization.
I would also call a team meeting to review goals and objectives, and ask the team members to assess whether they think these are being met. Allowing the team to self-evaluate may identify areas for improvement that individuals may recognise they themselves need to do. It also informs the team as a whole that there are issues to be looked at and resolved. Teams are often very insightful and very honest with themselves about whether they are achieving what they need to do, as fast as they need to and to the
Critical Thinking Paper Steven Cook Mtg/350 March 29, 2012 Timothy Baker Critical Thinking is important to people on a daily basis. The ability to have a mode of thinking that enables us to communicate effectively and form good problem solving abilities. Good thinking skills give one the ability to analyze and assess a problem or situation so as to find the right corrective measures to solve the issue at hand. Critical Thinking is self directed and self disciplined. Critical thinkers are always working to improve the skills of reasoning and intellectual abilities which enable them to try and improve the world around them.
The supervisor ensures the planning and management of all ongoing testing, taking into account available resources while ensuring the profitability of his department. More specifically, the incumbent oversees the implementation of the test benches; the realization of the tests as well writing of the documentation associated to the tests plans, the experimental methods and to the test reports. The supervisor also collaborates to internal and external audits preparation. The person retained will be an energetic and proactive leader, who can prosper in a dynamic, stimulating business environment, in constant evolution where decisions either technical or for business must be taken all the time.
