In his own way he has given so many Americans reasons to believe in themselves, believe that they can get a good, quality education and eventually go into the job market and have health insurance and maybe even buy their own home; something that many Americans have yet to and may never accomplish. Nixon’s persuasion skills made this speech a successful one, which has stuck with people even today. He used his words effectively, and did the job of refuting most if not all of the questions presenting themselves because of the funds that were donated. Consequently, the rhetorical usage of ethos, pathos, and logos that Ryan exemplified in his speech were very effective. Using pathos he was able to convince his audience that he is just like everyone else trying to make something of themselves in this country, and while some of his factual information and logical reasoning may have been a bit off, his audience was obviously able to overlook that due to their overwhelming positive reaction to his use of emotional appeal. During the World War I era girls were much more proper and disciplined than now days. Helens respect and love for Krebs is hardly talked about in the story although there is no doubt has a lot of both feelings towards Krebs. Although Krebs doesn’t receive the homecoming as a soldier that he thought he would Helen is there to tell and show how proud of him she is. Helens choice to invite her brother to her softball game is one of the signs of how much she looks up to Krebs and wants his involvement in her life. Krebs being the only other sibling of Helen make a huge impact on there relationship.
By using many quotes, statistics, and descriptive details Clarke makes the writing complete. It’s as if he gives a little taste of everything, but that miniscule amount is sufficient to feed one’s imagination. Clarke really makes a homerun, his purpose to demonstrate how well Kennedy’s speech was and how/why it was successful, also to demonstrate the genuine president that Kennedy was; in which he clearly accomplishes. Personally never paid much attention to any president’s speech nor wanted to read it, but after reading “Why JFK’s Inaugural Succeeded”, the motivation and very enthusiasm to read Kennedy’s speech was unavoidable. Amazingly an author can really engage his/her audience, but that really takes a lot.
If their mother was still alive they would not have to hide from their father. Brian on the other hand attributed his experiences to the fact that life was harsh on him and he could not forgive the people in his life that hurt him. This was in the beginning of the movie. An example of this is when he refuses to visit his mother during the weekends and speakes rudely to his mother on the phone. Later on in the movie , after mixing with Rohana and Rohani he forgives his mother and goes to visit her.
Obama immediately brought up the Lilly Ledbetter act which was the first bill he signed when he came into office. The act opens up limitations on pay discrimination lawsuits filed after a period of time. Passing bills like the Lilly Ledbetter act is the right step women need in this economy. President Obama says this is not just a women’s issue, but a family and middle class issue as well. Another issue brought up by Mr. Obama is insurance companies should provide contraceptives to anyone being insured.
It’s interesting to note that even though Clinton and Obama butted heads on many policies during the 2008 election season, they could be professionals and even lead to Obama naming her as the Secretary of State. It’s also interesting to note that Clinton is rumored to run again in 2016 because of her recent moves of acquiring former campaign advisors to Obama that helped her succeed in 2008 and 2012. Clinton is primed to make a strong comeback. She has reset her entire campaign by introducing life and vitality and a new vision. She has claimed to be more effective in connecting with the American people as well as more wired in with the younger generation.
They even thought that I was high and gone off of a top notch drug. Some even asked if I could supply them with some of the “products”. She is the most loving, caring, accepting, and hilarious person I have ever met because of that place and those people. She found people to support her through her pain, to help her raise us. My siblings and I didn’t need a father after that, we had a whole church full of fathers, and extra mothers, and even more brothers and sisters. After my father sobered up and begged to be part of our lives again, we added one more man to the pile of fathers that we had. We had great men in our lives to help my mother guide us, and I see now how courageous my father was to come back and attempt to be a father.
