Good manners include not speaking unless spoken to. Make sure you think before you speak as what is in your head may not always come out correctly and may offend. Always use the name they like to be called by as this shows respect to them. Help and advice each other when needed. Keep confidentiality. We must not gossip and be careful what is said in front of children. Show kindness and courtesy. Always consider the next persons position and feelings before reacting. Always maintain eye contact as this shows you are interested n their conversation. Being polite can be in the simplest form such as using please and thank you when appropriate. Be respectful by showing patience and humility. Always remain professional and lend your support. Your environment needs to be of mutual support and openness. Here are four aspects of relationship building, Practical, Informative, Professional and Emotional (also known as PIPE). if others are comfortable in our company, they will be more likely to communicate effectively.
