Nutrition is defined by what a person ingests and how their body digests, absorbs and metabolises the food or liquid ingested. Optimum nutrition is required for adequate growth, repair and maintenance within the body. If the balance of nutrition is in any way inadequate or excessive it may lead to chronic disease. Good nutrition is the balance of an adequate diet combined with with regular physical activity and is essential for good health.
In this case I would seek guidance for their care plan and GP as to what is acceptable for them to be having. 3.
