Why is Government Important? American Government Many may not realize it but government is a big part of their life. How long they go to school, how the transportation works in their city, how the quality of the food is that is consumed, and the biggest one is how much money you pay for your taxes. These are just a few ways the government affects our everyday lives. This is why it is very imperative that the citizens should learn about their government.
These goals are accomplished using tangible countermeasures ranging from fencing and lighting to electronic surveillance equipment and carefully defined policies and procedures. The basic concept of physical security is to create barriers or obstacles that will protect people, their assets, and the environment. While people are not always the threats that businesses fear, natural disasters are a big part of their problems depending on the areas they live in. Physical security can’t prevent everything but creating protocols and ways to back up systems or to create a way for these businesses to rebuild without completely losing their business is a way to protect. To be prepared for anything is hard to do but with research and good instincts a business could be and feel safe from manmade and natural disasters.
These limitations are shown regularly in the areas of juries and victims’ rights. Our laws may not always be enforceable and at times, victim’s rights may be turned away to promote resource efficiency. Juries and the jury system are one of the most controversial and publicly highlighted issues within the criminal trial process. In the modern era where many pieces of evidence involve technology and forensics, some jurors may have difficulty understanding evidence due to the increasing technical nature of some cases. This is shown in an article written by Justice Kevin Duggan in the Sydney Morning Herald (July 25, 2011) where he states that “criminal cases are becoming too complicated for juries”.
Criminal justice administrators make important decisions daily, which can have profound effects on our lives (Gleason, 2006). Within the criminal justice administration critical thinking also play an important role along side with ethical and professional behavior. Within criminal justice law enforcement, corrections, and courts all use critical thinking to make ethical and professional decisions. Police officers must use critical thinking to conclude how the law was broken, how to respond, and if to arrest a person or not. When a police officer does not use critical thinking that is where problems can arise.
Like what Xavier said in his argument, the government would wasting money on the prisoners, I believe that’s true the government is helping giving the prisoners a second chance and to be educated. Voluntary, prisoners have a choice to choose whether or not they'd want to do the job, but according to law the prison labor is recommended for these people and to help them. Though they may seem vicious and cruel it shouldn’t stop them from gaining new skills for a job industry. Employment may include baker, laundry, kitchen, wood work, retailer shops, farming, gardening, community work and cleaning. This form of labor can help with their rehabilitation.
The prosecution must without a reasonable doubt prove the defendant is responsible for committing the crime. And in doing so must remain within the regulations of the courts. Sometimes the prosecution’s personal, ethical. Organizational, or political beliefs can becomea driving force into a trail which can have negative effects on the courts when misconduct occurs or mistakes are made. When misconduct or mistakes are made it can have very damaging effects on individuals and their lives, but also to the credibility of the criminal justice system.
Although juries are intended to be fair and balanced, and are in theory supposed to prevent biased, incompetent people having that kind power. However often enough it's the opposite that happens. In criminal cases where the defendant's punishment could be serving time in prison or could even be death, there is a great deal of pressure on jurors to ultimately make the right decision. This kind of pressure combined with the fear of possible guilt can be overwhelming for jurors, making them incapable of doing their job properly. For example, imagine that you’re in a jury room, and all of the other jurors have voted on the defendant being guilty and you are the one to decide whether or not this person gets the death sentence or if they walk free.
A certain type of gun should only be allowed to a certain person. Such as if your job is in the government or any other trusted position then you can be trusted. The sales representative or manger can also check for criminal back ground or anything suspicious about them. If this becomes a law then people who have committed crimes know not to come to a store and buy a gun or else they could be sent to jail. Less people will have an access to a gun causing fewer deaths to happen by gun violence conflicts.
Money is spent on the rehabilitation of all inmates and time, but it will affect both the prison and the public in ways we cannot count, like the inmate receives the information and if he or she used it that is good, but if the inmates just brush it aside and go back to the ways of the old habits the money is wasted and cannot make up the money spent on the inmates. The state would ask for more money and because of the increase to of inmates coming in to the jail system, and rising coat to rehabilitate each one. Recommendations would be that most of the inmates that received counseling came back to jail should pay back the state for the monies used try to and rehabilitate the person so as to make it clear that this is what will happen if he or she fails then most of the inmates will think twice before coming back to jail. Parole for an inmate has exhibits a change and that he or she has been good during his or her stay in jail. After a certain amount of time has been served the inmate can come up for parole and if the board believes that he or she has made a change then they could make parole and be release early but if he or she does something bad, they will go back to jail and Finnish out their
Drug use in prison is one of the main problems they face. They not only try to catch inmates with drugs, but also decide on whether and inmate really needs them for a certain illness they may have. Another problem correctional officers have is trying to find skilled help actually willing to work with the inmates. Finding staff to do this kind of job is hard work and time consuming, but once the job is complete, it is all worth it in the
