The concept of spurious relationships is especially interesting to me in that I am faced on a daily basis with cause and effect items such as: a student did not complete his admissions application to college and therefore he cannot attend courses in a program of study he is seeking. This example can be thought of as having a true causal relationship. There are still others where the student says we are responsible for him not graduating in time to apply for another college. It is our fault for not informing them on time of steps they needed to take. What the student fails to see is that he needs to check his school e-mail in order to read and take the next steps in order to fulfill graduation requirements.
I should always keep people informed about progress as they may need to know about changes in targets as it allows them to make amendments to the way they handle their work, if they are not informed it may affect their working abilities. The purpose of letting other people know work plans need to be changed is so they can plan sufficient timescales and it gives them time to adapt to the new changes. By giving them notice it increases their chances of completing the task more efficiently and to an expectable standard. The purpose and benefits of recognising and learning from mistakes is so I know where I have gone wrong and I am able to prevent the mistake from happening again. The purpose and benefits of taking on new challenges if they arise is so I am able to put myself to the test by using my strengths and strengthening my weaknesses, this helps me achieve self growth opportunities and gain new skills to use in more challenging situations.

The young man, Charlie, just lost a friend, possibly his only friend to a suicide has psychological problems, can’t get the one girl he loves; while at the same time is an absolute genius. He thinks out loud to his “friend” about a lot of things that are very thought-provoking.
On a Saturday afternoon, a young college student noticed that as she was reading chapter three for her sociology class, it was quite difficult to focus. She found herself constantly picking up her phone and scrolling through Instagram (a social network) to look at photos, friends have updated. The student goes back to the reading but still couldn't manage to keep her full attention on the reading for more than ten minutes without looking through her phone for new emails and updates. In an essay written by Nicholas Carr, "Is Google making us Stupid? ", Carr argues how the Internet may diminish our capacity for concentration and contemplation.
Afterwards the Director tells them their mistakes. At the end of the book, the students recall their first exercise: Sitting in a chair in a way that interests the audience, and searching for a brooch
