In the hall one day Jamie Jadestone one of the most popular girls in school came over to Julia and tried to start trouble, but to bad Julia is a smart cookie and can get herself out of bad situations she just simply said “Get out of the way” and walked on and that was in between second and third hour time and Jamie was in Julia’s next class. Ruining Dreams The United States won the gold medal for softball in the Olympics for the last 6 consecutive years. Because no team was a challenge for the U.S., Softball was taken out of the Olympics in spring 2009. Young girls who looked up to the Olympic players were robbed of their ability to aspire to be just like them. The Olympics provided a reason to keep playing and gave professionalism to the sport. Thus, softball should be a sport in the Olympics.
It all came down to her they needed a very high score, it was the last event which was vault and she was the last person up and they were depending on her score to get the gold medal, it was all going good in tell she missed her hands on the vault and fell and sprained her ankle very bad. Despite her hurt ankle she had a anther vault to do
In 1960, Vivian took Debbie and her siblings to live with her in Mexico. After almost two years in Mexico, the Allen family returned to Texas, where the twelve year old Debbie auditioned for the Houston Ballet School. Debbie’s performance was good enough for admission, however the school denied her entry based on the color of her skin. Fortunately, a year later, a Russian instructor at the school who saw Debbie perform and secretly enrolled the aspiring dancer. When the admissions department discovered what had happened, they were going kick her out but they were so impressed with her skills that they let Allen stay in the program.
The pageant moms pay hundreds of dollars to have the “best of the best” spray their child down with a can of orange spray paint. As any toddler would, the princesses usually scream and pout and resist all attempts at being hosed down until their mothers promise them a brand new pony after it’s all over. After having their skin damaged beyond repair from the chemicals of a spray tan, they move on to their nails. The whole family joins the beauty queen in receiving her full spa treatment complete with manicure, pedicure and massage. I mean how could we expect a four year old to deal with the stress of a pageant without a full body massage?
Both stories,Aschenputtel and Yeh-Shen shares the same sad background. Both stories are about two young maiden with beauty anf grace. They both lost their mother when they were young, raised by their evil stepmother and stepsisters. Just as Aschenputtel her dream of going to the prince’s ball, Yeh-Shen also had her dream; she “longed to go to the Spring Festival,” where young women met their husbands They both weren’t allowed to go to the festival but they got help and support from their Magical friends. At the end of the festival they both lose a golden slipper and later married a royalty.
Essay Similarities Danielle Piazza [pic] 11/19/2009 English Comp I Dr. Knight The first essay chosen by me to comparatively examine is “Bombs Bursting in Air” written by Beth Johnson, an essay about a mother trying to find a way to share bad news with her children about the hardships of life. She begins to recollect moments in her life where things have gone horribly wrong. The essay is written in first-person sharing the author’s views and thoughts. The author and her children are at the Junior Olympics where her son is competing on a relay-race team. During the Star Spangled Banner, she begins thinking about how bombs are a metaphor pertaining to tragedies throughout life.

She has overcome hurdles that most others would merely try to avoid and she does it with determination. She has two beautiful little girls (Bella and Laila) that are her world. Right out of high school she joined the army where she met her ex-husband, all seemed well at first but the turmoil of their relationship was too much of a strain and they got divorced. While most women would cave into the unnecessary evils of this world, Cassandra rose above all of that and gained a new relationship with the Lord.
LIFE IS A JOURNEY NOT A DESTINATION From her Latin thread, Dallas native and 30 year old Gloria Hoskins offers a hardworking go-getter personality. Her lifelong passion to help others and personal stories of love, losses, and achievements, serves as an inspiration for others to emulate. Beginning her career as a certified Spanish teacher, she has worked with kinder garden level children, “who sometimes make me want to run”, says Gloria with a laugh. But not everything has been a smile for Gloria. Prior to her achievements she suffered a tragedy that left her and a younger sibling as orphans while living in Mexico, at the ripe age of eight.

Miss Saunders also gets made fun of because of the big blotch she has on her face which is her birth mark.
