Having a mandatory uniform limits teenager’s creativity and their expressive side. Lastly, the uniform can be harmful to schools image because some schools may have nicer uniforms than others causing other schools to envy them and not feel equal and uniforms are all about making everyone equal. Students will most likely be in their uniforms after school hours. If some students are caught up in bad behavior it can make the school look bad and gain a reputation. Also, when students don't agree with the uniform they wear many of them alter
In addition to what Lang Wood believes, Stephens claims, students who are taking the test suffer from stress in result of worrying about passing it. Stephens points out “negative results more often than not yield low-self-esteem, higher incidents of seclusion and lower academic progress. Children who pass the test are just happy to be done with it and really do not gain sense of achievement” (par.4). It is clear that the pressure and anxiety
This building is a historical landmark of Queens. If this school were to shut down, the students would be missing so much educational excellence from the teachers. It wouldn’t make any sense to close the school and split each floor into new schools when it’s the budget cuts that are being deducted every school year. Bryant high school has so many academic departments and athletic sports to offer. It would be a shame to let these opportunities for the students to lessen.
Most students try to avoid being lectured or get in trouble for something they can avoid. This is definitely extrinsic motivation that in turn create intrinsic motivation. Also, being able to see others students succeed around them can also motivate. If I don't care about my homework but I see that my friends do, I might be more likely to start caring about it
Working class children are less likely to succeed because they are less likely to be found in nursery schools, less likely to go to university and more likely to be poor readers when they start school, more likely to be in lower sets and streams in secondary school, more likely to leave school early, more likely to underachieve at GCSEs and a level, more likely to be excluded and suspended .This is because the middle-class culture children are adequately prepared for school, but it's totally reverse for working-class culture, it basically fails to prepare children adequately for educational success. It is often said that intellectual development is vital in the younger years of a child life, this refers to a child's ability to solve problems and apply concepts and ideas. Bernstein and Young argue that Middle-class families will be able to afford toys that stimulate the mind, books and pre educational essentials, whereas the working class may struggle to buy such equipment, and therefore have a disadvantage compared to the Middle-class family. Language is also associated with a child's progress. Early socialisation is what gives children this manor of speech and Bernstein argues it makes children feel at home, in a school surrounding and allows children to express themselves clearly and efficiently.
Juvenile crime is highest between 3 pm and 7 pm because kids are out of school" later school times ill prevent juvenile crime. So in conclusion, not only will later school start times improve grades, attendance, and behavior, but also society. It will ease the stress of teachers and parents, but also kids. It will also reduce the level of juvenile
This deliberate use of Adderall to gain better grades puts ADHD students at a further disadvantage because there is no other means by which the field could be leveled once more. This therefore qualifies as treating an ADHD student as a mere means. This can be said because the non-ADHD student is negatively affecting the end of another
Back then not, much punishment given to correct the problems that happen, some of the students could not tell their teachers because at times the teachers were part the problem as well. These ongoing issues seem it would never end for some students. Education can be a very scary experience for some students; the educational system has changed from back in the 60’s and 70’s. The punishment is more survive and more rules to follow. Even though the system has made a great deal of changes, it has not stopped the problems just slow them down.
Why Uniforms Should Not Be Mandatory Many people have been talking about how enforcing students to wear uniforms to school but I have to disagree. As much as there are advantages to having uniforms there are even more disadvantages to having them. There will be 3 reasons that I will be discussing about in this essay. Reasons are the highly expensive cost, stealing style and individuality from the students and the level of uncomfort uniforms provide. Uniforms are expensive, it might not be to wealthy families but it is a lot to families who are less fortunate.
Based on the recent ubiquity of standardized tests, it is clear that schools have promoted the former more than the latter. This push for conformity has been detrimental to students, who have suffered because of the lack of outlets to develop and express their individuality and creativity. Conformity in and of itself is not harmful to students. In fact, if applied correctly, it can be very helpful to their development. Some conformity — things like basic rules and an organized classroom — is helpful to students because it creates an environment conducive to
