Introduction Case Study Regency Plaza After reading the case study of Regency Plaza, our group had discussed how project management should be apply and manage in order to become effective and efficient project manager in this case study. Commonly faced problems such as delivery late or exceeding budget, which these type of problems or issue is normally can be control with effective and efficient project manager. Situations where resources, time, cost are concerned, managers are tend to make more human mistake under pressure or irrational decisions in the result of more work is required or delaying project completion date. Projects managers are able to reduce or minimize these errors by having more control over the project ensuring that there is effective and efficient planning, design and management in the project itself. Projects are stepping stones of corporate strategy and its success is crucial within the corporation. Regency Hotel Group planned to develop a new business strategy and concept by developing a hotel linked together with condominium into the market. The crucial role of the project manager is to take responsibility for the overall success of the project. However, this does not apply to the Regency Plaza project. As indicated, this project has been racked with many uncertainties and doubts. With this, we will evaluate the following as follows below: 1) The Project Definition Phase of Regency Plaza; problems encountered during projects 2) The Role of the Project Manager, 3) The Overall Risk Assessment 4) The Implications for the Project Manager facilitating the pace of the project. Project Definition Phase Goals Regency Hotel Group is their first attempt venturing into this new concept of building hotels room together with luxury condominiums.
