I quickly began to attend college classes through my employer to make gains in my career and try to possibly secure my future. I had no idea until this point the many advantages that college was going to provide for me if I allowed it to. Continuing on in the job I had accepted it opened opportunities to study courses to get me promoted and increase my wages which bettered my lifestyle for me and my family and made things easier. I had finally found a job that I was happy in and chances to increase my thirst for knowledge as I could continue my education as long as I wanted. I finally had self- confidence and the drive to make the most of my career as I neared completion of Banker’s College.

Returning to school always has been something I knew I wanted to do but to obtain the courage to do it was something different. I knew that I always struggled with school and to continue on and go to college was nowhere in my current life goals. Having that degree could open so may doors in my life. Accepting that there would be obstacles and learning how to overcome them to be successful was a challenge all in itself.
Result of Career Interests Profiler and Competencies activities I am getting ready to retire from my first career where I made a very good living and in order to continue with the same quality of life, I need to have a new career that will support the current lifestyle that I am familiar with. The first step for me is to choose a new career and that is why this assignment is so important to me. When I reviewed the results of the Career Interest Profile I was surprised to see so many things resulting from the questionnaire that was a match for me. This will not make choosing a career any easier seeing how I’m interested in almost all the matches that were listed from the profiler results. I was also very interested in what my results were going to be from the competency questionnaire and the results were taking initiative, innovating, delivering results, following instructions, coping with pressure and applying expertise.
I’m a father of two awesome sons name Cameron and Jonathon, and I have a beautiful step-daughter name Kristen. My wife is also going back to school to get her degree in education. I have been thinking a long time about going back to school and I felt that it was time to do it. I want to better my life for my kids and show them that an education is very important. I had a lot of dead end jobs that lead nowhere and felt that I should go back to school and get my degree.

Learning to manage your time with all the freedom college brings is one of the hardest transitions to make. While in high school you always were reminded when your work was due and etc. In college its your own responsibility to know when you have work to be turned in and test. In explains ways to make managing your time easier such as knowing your goals and knowing what you have to do to achieve your goals. You also have to know your purpose of attending college and what you want out of it.
Not being aware of necessary graduation requirements are another, while this is not my first time in college this is my first semester at Hostos and it is difficult to understand what is necessary for graduation and what is not. 4. As crazy as it sounds sometimes I am unsure about what I would like to be doing in 5 years that will be my career for the remainder of my life. So I am constantly weighing out my options in the career I am pursing versus other careers that might seem interesting to me for the moment. Help 1.
It has helped me with the debt that I had prior to returning to school. This started off being the main reason why I decided to return to school but I saw the bigger picture and that was me getting a college degree and making a better life my children. So for me, it is all worth it in the end. While trying to pursue my degree, I know there will be many obstacles in the way such as unsupportive peers and being able to maintain good grades. Some of the strategies are to make sure I study all material as much as I can and turn all assignments in a timely manner.
