Career Exploration Essay Career exploration is important for everyone because it yields structure and direction. An assessment from this determines which careers will best suit an individual physically, mentally, and emotionally. As time passes so does ones aspects, abilities, and skills making career exploration a life long process. This process is beneficial to a job because it betters a person's ability to become aware of their values, interests, skills, abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. Once one discovers the skills and abilities they would like to focus on they can use them as the lead way to the profession that would bring them both prosperity and happiness. Most employers hire employees that are committed to their profession and want to stand out. I have explored and taken tests to help with decisions of career making and I decided to be an elementary school teacher. In high school I took six semesters of Early Childhood Education. This helped prepare me for making lesson plans and taking on many other responsibilities of a teacher. In this class I taught young children ages 3-5. Also, I created a resume, wrote letters to parents, made a photo-story for the children, pretended to own a daycare by setting budgets, cleaned and sanitized our classroom everyday, and made power-points on safety, health, etc. I very much enjoyed the class and it helped guide me with my career path. Being a teacher carries a lot of respect, responsibility, and perks. Teaching is a challenging line of work with many unique obstacles, but teaching also offers a numerous amount of rewards. Teachers get to enjoy the impact they have on their students' lives by watching them gain more impact and become interested in the subject as they learn more about it.
