Kellogg’s Raisin Brand For my product presentation, my partner and I will be comparing Kellogg’s Raisin Bran to Post Raisin Bran. I will be talking to you about my brand Kellogg’s, and what makes their Raisin Bran stand out from the competition. But where does the name raisin brand come from Skinner's Raisin Bran" was the first brand on the market, introduced in the United States in 1926 by U.S. Mills, best known for the similar Uncle Sam Cereal .The name "Raisin Bran" was at one time trademarked. Raisin Bran was invented by 312 different cereal and grain companies. The most famous raisin-and-bran combination was the one marketed by Kelly's. Kellogg's was founded as the Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Company on February 19, 1906, by Will Keith Kellogg as an outgrowth of his work with his brother John Harvey Kellogg at the battle creek Sanitarium following practice based on the seventh-day Adventist church. The company produced and marketed the hugely successful Kellogg's Toasted Corn Flakes and was renamed the Kellogg Company in 1922. Kellogg’s headquarters are in Michigan. Kellogg's produces cereal and convenience foods, including cookies, crackers, toaster pastries, cereal bars, fruit-flavored snacks, frozen waffles, and vegetarian foods. Some of the company’s brands include fruit loop, corn flakes, frosted flake, rice krispie, special K and many more. When inspecting the nutrition facts and ingredients of Kellogg’s Raisin brand, but other brands are very similar. In cereal, the top 2 parameters to consider are sugar and fiber. You want less of the first, more of the second one. How does Raisin Bran stack up? Here’s the info from the nutrition facts panel. Fiber – 7 grams. Very good, that’s almost 30% of the daily minimum. Sugar – 19 grams. That’s a lot – almost 5 teaspoon’s worth! For comparison, sugary kids’ cereals such as Fruit Loops contain only 12 grams.
