Have you ever wondered what being a Jewish person is like? In the novel “Boy in the Striped Pajamas,” a Jewish boy is separated and discriminated from the rest of the world. Because this boy is of Jewish background, he is constantly beat and looked down upon as being inhuman. Also, the Education within Germany was deeply fraud because German children were taught lies to change their views and perspectives against the Jews. The novel “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas” showed a Man vs. Society conflict because the Jews were discriminated and looked down upon by the Germans. The Germans were capturing numerous Jews and imprisoning them in concentration camps. The Jewish people were separated from the world by a fence. This fence symbolized how the Germans discriminated the Jewish race. They took their clothes away as mention by Shmuel: “The Soldiers. They took our clothes away.” Not only were Jewish people constantly discriminated, but they also had their freedom taken away. In the concentration camps, they were forced to work and their connection with the outside world was completely cut off. German Nazis were ruthless to the Jews. No matter how small or large the mistake was they will still give a good beating. An example of this was when Shmuel was told to go clean the glass wear within the house. In this predicament he was caught eating my Lieutenant Kotler and was in trouble. In chapter 15 Lieutenant Kotler said: “We will have a discussion about what happens to boys who steal.”(Boyn, 173) But in reality he beat shmuel instead of giving him a talk. The fact that German would beat 9 year-old boys is just another example on how cruel they could be. Education is important to every individual.
