Zanoria BAKIT BALIKTAD MAGBASA NG LIBRO ANG MGA PILIPINO? – A Closer Look As I was reading this book the question that is echoing in my head is, “Where’s the faith in Humanity?” The book has creatively shown the irony in the supposed-to-be culture and practices of the Filipino. How we adapt and act according to the situation. So basically it is about us. So is that a good thing? Unfortunately not. It’s a sad thing to think how time has rapidly changed us. From the games that the youngsters play up to the thoughts of everyone about migrating to other places, specifically in the United States or European Countries, to deny and make fun of his own motherland. Another thing is that its first part after the introduction, I myself did read that part twice because as weird as it may seem, it was like I was the one who wrote it because of the similarity to my thoughts and experiences. To be honest, I didn’t really notice the error within the lyrics of our National Anthem that is why I have to go back to that part and have a good laugh about it. On a serious note, that event is quite alarming, not just for me as well as for everyone who also did what I did. We tend to ignore the small things. We thought that just because it is what we are used to, even if it is wrong, it’s alright because we are the only ones who is doing it. For example, in following the traffic regulations, the different types of driver that was mentioned in the book follow whatever they are used to; over speeding, over pricing are just some of the examples.
