They are concerned that each step toward greater gun control will lead to the eventual confiscation of all firearms. Gun control opponent groups spend far more than gun control supporters on campaign contributions. Opponents of gun control, including the National Rifle Association, better known as the NRA, argue that the "right to bear arms" is guaranteed in the second amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America and licensing restrictions penalize law-abiding citizens while in no way preventing criminal use of handguns. As the National Rifle Association puts it, “Guns Don’t kill People—People Do.” It is also argued that by making it difficult for guns to be bought and registered for the American public there is a threat to the personal safety of American families
A Shot at Gun Control In 1776, our Constitution was written by our forefathers. The 2nd Amendment, “The Right to Bear Arms”, was constructed deliberately so that all citizens had the right to carry weapons and protect themselves against a government that could become to powerful or tyrannical. In the years that followed, the creation of the Constitution, the 2nd amendment was essential and fundamental to the growth of our country as a whole, but now over 200 years later the 2nd amendment has become fundamentally flawed in current modern society. Most citizens nowadays don’t carry firearms for protection and for the use of sustenance. Citizens today use firearms for more devious actions.
In fact it is abnormal for the first world economy to still in the 21th century deal with the gun control problem. Pro-guns association act like America is in perpetual war with someone. They miss the old time when for no reason people could pull the trigger with no reason. Most of the industrialized nations don’t understand the American Status on gun. In France gun a really restricted because we know the horror of war and violence.
Gun Control “Opponents to gun control laws argue ‘guns don’t kill people, people kill people”’(ProQuest Staff). Gun Violence is a major problem in the United States today considering the current gun control regulations are ineffective; however, laws can be made to accommodate for this and still allow the citizens to protect themselves from danger. “The role of guns in violence, and what should be done, are subjects of intense debate in the United States and elsewhere” (Webster). The people who have either seen, heard, or read news stories on gun policies might have come to the conclusion that mass shootings, the mentally ill, and assault weapons are the primary concerns in the debates; gun control laws disarm law-abiding citizens and fail
The anti-gun control groups consider that banning of guns or restricting individuals on the possession of guns as unconstitutional (Brown & Abel, 2003). The anti-gun control groups support the Second Amendment, which protects the rights of civilians from undergoing infringement for a safe state. Individuals can acquire, possess, and use their guns for their own personal safety. The Gun Owners of America (GOA) refers to a lobbyist group preserving and defending the Second Amendment (Brown & Abel, 2003). This lobbyist group considers the right to acquire and possess guns as a freedom issue among the civilians.
Do Stricter Gun-Control Laws Help Prevent Gun-Related Injuries/Deaths? Gun control arguments are a hot topic in America and around the world; it is a topic not likely to go away anytime soon. Arguments for and against carry their own merit and can be lengthy and broad by nature, but our intent is to debate the effect of gun-control laws and the effect they have on gun-related injuries/deaths. The argument presented here will get to the crux of why laws should or should not be enacted to prevent social ills. Most agree that gun-related injury or death of innocent citizens should never be tolerated, but there are opinions on the course to take in an effort to discover a solution.
Alex Barr Kimla Virden Comp I. 10-24-11 Gun Violence Gun Violence has been an issue in America for several years. Everybody has their own opinion on it and no one can seem to come to a conclusion on the right answer. Michael Moore in Bowling for Columbine states his opinions and gets other opinions as well. Lillian Rubin who wrote “Guns and Grief” gives several reasons as to why Cho Seung-Hui might have fired at Virginia Tech.
Gun control Gun restriction legislation is currently in progress to stop the sale of automatic rifles, and clip size. These new proposed legislations would not stop the mass killings that caused this new kind of fear. While nothing is going to happen like the gun laws in England, where private ownership of a assault rifle is non existent, the government is trying to stop these killings that have struck fear into the American public, alternatively no one is proposing the laws in Switzerland that state it is not right for guns laws to be restricted in any way. The current gun restrictions on a nation-wide basis differs from state to state, however, one law is clear throughout the whole nation “the right of the people to keep and
They should not be able to take away our rights that were given to us long ago. The people of the United States of America do not like the government trying to pass this law. People use guns for self-defense and hunting. People are standing up for their rights and showing the government that they can’t walk on us. This gun control is making ammunition prices raise.
In the gun control argument, I stand with the side that wants more gun control and less permission to carry a gun. There are many rules that I am against that are for guns, like to buy a gun you only get a background check and that’s it, I think you should get checked every year, and not only should they do a background check, they should also do a psychological test, and you should have to go to a course on guns and gun use every time you want to renew the license. There have been a lot of accidents around the country because of this issue of gun control, people are acquiring guns way too easily and are not using them properly, if you are buying a gun then like it should either be for hunting animals or for self-defense. They shouldn’t use them just because they don’t like the person or because of revenge or other stupid motives like those.
