According to the World Health Organization every year around the world there are an estimated amount of 125’000 abortions every day by woman and young adults. Hoare (2013) stated that women who have abortions feel that they have no choice. They tend to believe that there are reasons why one should have an abortion such as: not being financially set, fear of raising a child and being a single parent. However, an abortion can be avoided with other plausible solutions such as abstinence and adoption. Furthermore, I firmly believe that the possible problems that can develop from an abortion far outweigh the reasons why many persons have abortions. Thus, I believe strongly that a woman should not consider aborting a child because of the negative physical and emotional effects, religious beliefs and human values. Physical and Emotional Effects The first reason why women should not abort a baby is because of the negative emotional and physical effects it can have on an individual. According to Lawlor in the article "Long Term Psychological Effects of Abortion in Women", abortion often leaves women with feelings of self-hatred, isolation, regret, depression and even suicidal thoughts.
