A Visit to a Foreign Country

2. Summer vacation is probably the happiest period in my life. As a child, summertime fun in the sun began with the ringing of the last bell of the day. It signified that it was time to throw away old home work assignments and to forget about anything to do with school-for three months at least. Summer time is a time of simple pleasures and exciting times of the year. Three months of late night sleepovers with best friends, hanging out at the galleria/water park, and not having to worry about homework had been lingering in the mind since classes began in the fall..... When summer vacation finally rolls around, I can never make up my mind-on what to do first. Shall it be riding bikes to the park with friends or hanging out at the mall? Or visit some famous place, know about many customs, or just stay at home and watch TV? One thing was for certain though, the family vacation. To find a place to visit, I must take a day think it- where me and my family can have fun, and relax before do homework or back to work and school. So, I thought Paris is the best place to have summer vacation. When I asked my parents, at first, they said no. My mom told me:” Son, we can’t go to Paris because it’s too far from here. The food is delicious but it’s very expensive. The price to live in a hotel or rest house is very expensive, too. And we can visit some foreign countries in Asia. Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong are some beautiful countries we can go and the price to have a vacation in Asia is cheaper than we go to Europe. Or we can go to Hue, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh….. It’s cheaper and we can see a lot of beautiful places.” But after my parents made a decision, we went to Paris. My dad booked our seat by Vietnam Airline on June 30.
