HUM447: Edyta Chmiel “A Dream Fruit” Physical Details A dream fruit is firm in touch, and bright yellow, green, brown in color. The outside skin has brown spots and indentations. Its inner part is enclosed in gifted protective layer of smooth skin. Its bottom end narrows to a point and, the end has a thick stem that attaches fruit to the stalk. The skin is smooth, thick and has few vertical ridges that run the length of the fruit. The inside has a creamy white flesh. It is about 6”-9” inches long finger like structure. It looks like long curving cylinder. The skin can be peeled of easily and makes an interesting sound like a squeak. The pulp emanates rich, sweet fragrance. It feels cool, smooth and thick in touch, but when peeled and inside is reviled it is very mushy. The taste of the skin is very bitter, but the inside is sweet heaven. When I peeled the skin three bands of fiber peeled off. After, I sliced the fruit it revealed a fan like structure in the center of it. After ten minutes, I have noticed that the skin started to turn brown in color. It appeared like a brown ring enclosing the creamy flesh. The fruit when sliced looks perfectly round. It is very versatile fruit, great in fruit salads, ice cream, and cereals. Nutritious Details Also it is one of the most nutritious fruits in the world. It makes a delicious snack. I eat it every day because, it taste great and is rich in health benefiting anti-oxidants, minerals and vitamins. The pulp is composed of soft easily digestible flesh with simple sugars that eaten replenishes energy and revitalizes the body instantly. This fruit is very rich source of potassium.
