I have made many friends including Cadet/Private Sommermeyer and Cadet/Private Tatum. These many friends extend beyond the JROTC classroom and will no doubt be there when I most need them to be. Another thing ROTC is good for is community service hours. My counselor has already given me a community service worksheet to fill out whenever I do something and she says it will help me get into a much better college and will also look good on my Job/college application. JROTC also inspires me to work hard in school and out of school.
President Barack Obama: “Back to School“ President Barack Obama held a speech called “Back to School“ back in September 2009 at Wakefield High School, in front of students from all over the country. The president addresses the values of hard work and taking responsibility for paving your own way to success, no matter how hard the obstacles might be. The purpose of his speech was to persuade and motivate the students to stay focused and do well in school and take full advantage of their potential. His speech addresses to the American children from kindergarten up to high school. In the beginning of his speech, Obama says: “I imagine there are some seniors out there who are feeling pretty good right now, with just one more year to go“(pg.
Through this program, teachers return to their school with more knowledge, determination, and commitment to change their students' lives. Freedom Writers Foundation Website, an article titled “About the Scholarship Program”, noted, “The Freedom Writers Foundation awards scholarships each year to first-generation high school seniors and college students who have demonstrated remarkable academic promise despite considerable odds.” This program supports students in many ways. By providing the students a scholarship, they continue to learn and they have a shot at becoming what they want. Students through this program also receive support to earn a degree from college. Erin has inspired many teachers, students, and everyday people through this foundation.
Becoming Drum Major has definitely been in my mind since the very first Marching Band meeting I attended. I wish to obtain this prestigious position because it shows true character in a person. Truth is, I didn’t know what it meant to be a Drum Major until I saw how previous Drum Majors acted throughout my freshman and sophomore year. I saw that they both inspired many people to do their best, and for this I was inspired to try-out for this position. I really want to be able to motivate the band to do well in competitions and in addition, reach their goals in life.
During our last staff meeting before our break, the staff discussed how to bring the discussion of character back into our school and creating a new behavioral policy to encourage positive behaviors. I see this shift in policy as a way of bringing our school back to the mission and vision statements that were adopted by the school district. Our vision statement speaks of dedicating ourselves to student success. Our school employs these values on a daily basis, but it is through reflection that we can continue to improve. What are examples of ceremonies and rituals that are common to schools?
After completing my studies at Easton College, I completed numerous hours of work experience at the London 2012 Olympic Games, which involved me working as a steward. Also after going back to my native country Botswana, I was also able to complete numerous hours of work experience at Livingstone Kolobeng College as a Physical Education Assistant Teacher which involved me taking part in after school clubs within a Secondary School. This provided me with experience and more of an insight into teaching at Secondary level. I was very fortunate to get work experience as an assisting Physical Education teacher at a Secondary School during lesson time. This opportunity

They had enjoyed their experience and wanted to do more for the shelter. Not only is community service fun and rewarding, it also looks great on a resume or college application. Sometimes community service is even required for high school graduation. Last year in my life skills class my teacher often talked about community service and making a difference. One of papers we had to write was about if we thought requiring students at a university to complete 75 hours of community service was a good idea.
I received the Mayors essay award in the 9th grade, and got to visit the capital to meet our governor. I have been a member of the High School Basketball team since 9th grade, soccer team my junior year, and have played competitive soccer
