Curriculum Model Position Paper Nate Burk Kinesiology 305 December 11, 2014 “A student-centered learning environment is characterized by high levels of student engagement and empowerment so that students become central to the learning process” (Richards & Levesque-Bristol, 2014). This would be my ideal setting for my physical education class. I want my students to inspire the curriculum, because if they are not interested in it or if it is not beneficial to them they will not benefit from my class. I will be an adapted physical education teacher so I could be working with children from the preschool level all the way up to high school. Having such a wide range of ages to work with will allow me to see the children
I am attracted to the opportunity of maintaining my ability to work professionally as a Secondary Science Teacher in the local community and to continue my own knowledge in the field of Master of Arts in Education with a Principal certification. I believe that my continued educational and professional background in science and secondary education will be highly appropriate for the long term goal of becoming a grade school principal. It will also help in the grooming of our youth into highly productive members of their societies who are able to utilize their own skills in today’s fast paced living. I seek to become an accomplished and supportive leader by playing a significant community role by positively
Not only did I choose to participate in this program for academic reasons. I choose it for physical training. This program also does a lot of community service which not only looks good on your college transcript, but it helps people realize the true meaning an value of it. All of these things are the main reasons why I enrolled in JROTC. PT workout plan (make up for absence on 9/27/12) * Mile run- 8 minutes at the most * Stretch- 10 minutes (exercises vary) * Pushups (10-4 counts)-2 minutes *
These Lunch and Learns occur on Fridays from noon to one, and they are the most helpful workshops that I have ever attended. These workshop topics vary each Friday, from time management to learning how to take good notes in class. They provide food and it is a huge encouragement for me to know that there is help out there for those of us who are struggling in school, like me. The TRIO program also does campus tours, which are also very encouraging. The campus tours showed me that an education in our home town or community college is not the only option.
All of my magnet classes, from the beginning, taught me all the necessary things in order for me to be ready for my “job.” The teachers, especially, helped us be ready this internship had in store for us. Because I was so ready for this internship, it had a positive influence on my life. Since day one, everyone impacted me in a different way where it made me feel accepted in some sort of way. This internship really opened my eyes to things that others don’t see; those who don’t share the same passion as me. I was able to go beyond the wall of commodity and experience true friendships.
The difficulty pushed me to work harder and harder. I can assert that my perseverance and the hard work that I devote in my studies will help me in maintaining good grades. I understand that personality and character are important factors for maintaining my position in the Honors class. Every single experience I had in life helped me define who I am. Every lesson learned, every obstacle surpassed, every success savored and every dream reached, added up to my own personal magnification.
Success and Achievement Success can be defined as the favorable prosperous termination attempts or endeavors. Achievements come from success, determination, and setting goals. I have achieved numerous achievements and successes, in my life. Also, I have experienced success and achievements in my academics in high school. Having a job has helped me to realize what it takes to achieve success in all I do in school and outside to help make me a better person.
These courses allowed me to be taught by actual elementary school teachers, who have years of experience with working with children, and the knowledge and advice they were able to pass on truly helped me better understand what I was signing up for as an education major, and helped my improve the way I teach so that I could articulate in a way that would be comprehensible to students of a young age. These classes are slowly molding me to become a great teacher. Also, I am doubling majoring in psychology in hopes that it will help me to better understand the mentality of special education students, so that in the future I will be able to teach them in a way that they will be able to grasp. Psychology courses have
"If Winning Isn't Everything, Then Why do They Keep Score?" For as long as I can remember, I've played sports. The main reasons I loved playing sports is because they kept me occupied, I built lifelong relationships, and I stayed active all year long. Being in sports has taught me discipline, responsibility, and dedication. What I love the most about playing sports, more than anything, is the competition.
1 - What Are The Skills And Qualities You Could Bring To This Role? Hello, my name is Angelina and I am hoping to be selected for the role of a prefect. During my time at Crabtree High School I believe I have developed many different skills and I am confident that becoming a prefect would allow me to develop many more.
