Seems kind of pointless, most athletes don't go pro after college, so I why not get the full educational experience? Getting special treatment in school just because you’re an athlete is not fair. College is way to difficult for people to get special treatment just because of a person’s special talent. How about for students who are honor students? All their hard work doesn’t mean anything?
Referendums cannot be used to make a decision of immediate necessity as it takes weeks and sometimes months to come up with a final decision. If there is low turnout, the referendum process becomes ineffective. Its results will not be a true reflection of the will of the people. If it is binding it will lead to ineffective and flawed laws and public policies. Handing over the responsibility of making and amending laws to politically inept i.e.
No matter how old the kids getting licenses are, there will be car accidents ending in death. The only way to stop that is more experience, so it’s better to start driving as early as age 16. In most areas, public transportation is not a viable option on weekends or evenings—this means that older teens would need to be driven to work, and/or school by parents or older siblings. Raising the driving age would just cause undue hardship on families and
According to Bird, college is “...a graceful way to get away from home and become independent without losing the financial support of their parents” (Point #15, Bird). Although her claim may be true in some cases, Bird cannot speak on behalf of college students worldwide. This is mainly because there are no statistics that show how many students “get away from home and become independent without losing the financial support of their parents”. Her claim is composed mainly of logical reasoning, therefore cannot be deemed valid when speaking for a large amount of persons. Bird also uses style in an attempt to convey her argument.
Until my cousin because a teenager was when all the problems started because he was not able to have a driver’s license neither get help from the government or take out a loan to pay for his college tuition. B. Tie to Audience: One of the people having this kind of situation might be someone you know, or this person could have been you also just because your parents wanted a better future for you. C. Thesis and Preview: 1. Thesis Statement- The need for this dream Act is very important to so many immigrants that are brought to this country when they are children.
Postman uses a point-by-point argument to prove that Huxley’s vision is more relevant than Orwell’s. Postman says “What Orwell feared were those would ban books. What Huxley feared was that there would be no reason to ban a book, for there would be no one who wanted to read one” (Lines 12-13). Orwell’s vision of banning books could never happen in today’s society because of the first amendment. Banning of books can only take place in schools because the content could be too mature for youth, but students could still read the books outside of
She wants to go to visit the land but her father, King Triton, doesn’t allow her to do so because she’s too young and therefore wouldn’t be able to handle it. Ariel responds, “I’m sixteen years old, I’m not a child” openly declaring that she’s an adult, but one can easily
If that happens then you might have to take whatever class could not transfer over at a university for more money. Be sure to find a good advisor to make the chances of a nightmare happening slim to none. Unfortunately you do not get a bachelor’s degree from a community college. Some say community colleges have limited curriculum. (Pros and Cons, 2012) For high school graduates, commuting from home appears to them as a disadvantage.
Dear Steve Hanson: I acknowledge that you have asked the school board to permit cell phone use by students during lunch, studyhall, and before school. As a student _______, I disagree with the use of cell phones during the school day at all.I reject this proposal for many reasons. This is due to the fact of the non-beneficial use,the effect they have on social skills, and the increase in cyber bullying they could cause. Cell phones could be used during school in non - beneficial ways. For example, excessive texting during school would not benefit the students academically.Students playing games, could take their focus off of school work, and what they recently learned.Social media could be used and engage students in things happening outside of school.Texting, games, and social media do not benefit students during school. Cell phones could cause a social problem. They are anti-social electronics.Students will sit around on their phones and not cominicate with the people around them.If students are always on their phones, they would not be as good at communicating with others.Social skills are an important aspect of life.Being social at school is important for friendships and life skills in general.
The Gillick case Gillick competent. It’s a term used in medical law to indicate that a person under the age of 16 has been deemed capable of consenting to medical treatment without the parents’ consent, or, in fact, knowledge. The doctor should a) be acting in the patient’s best interest, and b) attempt to persuade the girl to involve her parents.
