You’re Beautiful and You’re a voter” by Anya Kamenetz, Kamenetz suggest that sixteen year olds be allowed to vote after taking a simple civics course. Sixteen year olds should not be allowed to obtain a voters permit and vote. Sixteen year olds have yet to live life, so they shouldn't be awarded adult privileges at such a young age. A simple civics course would have to know for that exact election whom and what they are voting for thus making it harder to teach because it changes every year which also makes it expensive. Just because a student passes a simple civics course doesn't mean that they're going to do what they feel is right when it comes down to voting. Therefore, due to age, cost and moral factors sixteen year olds should not be allowed to obtain a voters permit and vote. Why sixteen year olds should not be allowed to obtain a voters permit and vote because Sixteen year olds have yet to live life, so they shouldn't be awarded adult privileges at such a young age. Sixteen year olds are yet to have adult problems like bills and most have yet to work a day in their life. Sixteen year olds who haven't worked paid bills nor have major responsibilities don't know the meaning of voting, especially when it comes down to our freedom.
