Carol addresses the inappropriate dress code and asks the nurses to reform allowing a limited time for nurses to get their uniforms in order. As an option, she will allocate unit funds to purchase a uniformed color for all the nurses. The call-in and switching of shifts, requesting days off at last minute or requesting a schedule change has now a streamlined process. Every Tuesday and Thursday the Home has set up a visit from a local hairdresser, part of my duty are to communicate with the resident to ensure that they are aware of the impending hairdresser’s arrival of these days. It had become news that a new window and door factory was opening up in Red Oak, Iowa and that the owner was from a company that was just incorporated on November 18, 2008. The owner was Sharon Gillman, the wife of Republic owner Richard Gillman (Lydersen, 57). On Tuesday, December 2, the plant operations manager had the workers report to the cafeteria for a meeting and told them that the plant was closing, in three days. The employees were also told that they would not receive severance pay nor pay for their accrued vacation time. Cultural Event Any Name Professor XX Humanities 111 – World Cultures 1 June 15, 2013 I attended the “Of Gods & Glamour: The Mary & Michael Jaharis Galleries of Greek, Roman, and Byzantine Art” exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago, on June 13 at 6:15 pm until closing at 8pm. My daughter decided to tag along and take advantage of the free admission offered to Illinois residents on Thursday evenings. Upon arrival to the Museum the first thing we noticed were the Black Hawk Helmets that adorned the heads of the Lion statues which sit on either side of the staircase leading to the main entrance. Once inside we obtained our tickets from the agent and asked for directions to our exhibition, which was in Galleries 150 -154. In route we passed thru the Alsdorf Galleries of Indian, Asian & Himalayan Art and we couldn’t help but notice the numerous statues of Buddha, especially what appeared to be a life sized statue in the center of the room, which turned out to be Buddha Seated in Meditation (Dhyanamudra) India, Chola Period 12th Century.
