Clark, a.k.a Superman, adheres to a strict moral code, often attributed to the values with which he was raised. His commitment to operating within the law has been an example to many other heroes but has stirred bitterness among others. Some heroes refer to him as the "big blue boy scout." Superman can be rather unyielding in this trait, causing tensions in the superhero community, most notably with Wonder Woman , who is one of his closest friends, after she killed Maxwell Lord, because he was controlling
Although he was quite young to be part of the greaser’s gang, Ponyboy Curtis showed many people that he could have been one of the greatest hero’s in the novel. Ponyboy is one of the few people in the story who respected others as well as Socs and did not enjoy fighting. Throughout the story, Ponyboy ponders the question, ‘why people in both the Greaser’s and Soc’s gang enjoyed fighting’. The answers he received which were, “It’s fun” or “It’s for pride” or even “because we hate the Socs”. Ponyboy thought this was just an act of self-defence.
After reading The Killer Angels I am now more open to history as a subject and the literature that comes along with it. To read about how unexpected the battle actually was and how all of the commanding officers acted and felt amazed me. Michael Shaara put together the facts in such a way that made the novel not only readable but captivating to the reader, making me not want to put the book down. There were many mistakes on the confederate side which is what, I believe cause the union victory but, many men fought and died for what they believed in and that courage make them all victors in their own way. Although the civil war was not won that day, it was one of the deciding factors that eventually lead to the union victory and the freeing of the slaves, which would have most likely not have been accomplished if not for the men on that battlefield.
It was Good vs. Evil where a good warrior fights for his glory then later battles for the good of his people by battling evil monsters for there good. As a great warrior and later a king he faces near death. The first battle with Grendel he risked his life, but he did to reach fame for the glory and to prove that he is the mighty Beowulf. The battle with Grendel’s mother he fought for the greater good of the people to stop the terrorizing that they have done for years.
Research shows that leaders with high emotional intelligence are more effective and that transformational leadership allows for coaches like John Harbaugh to be an effective decision maker (Bliss, 2005). Coach Harbaugh is effective not only by his great play calling on the field, but also with his ability to pull on and arouse players such as Ray Lewis to further spread a contagious work ethic all over the Ravens organization. John Harbaugh’s ability to arouse players and create goals for them, have allowed his players give extra effort and maximize their potential. This aides them in making big plays in stressful situations such as the AFC North Championship game
The war played an important role for the British and the French. The British had many more weapons than the French, but their thirteen colonies often fought against one another. Their soldiers were also willing to die for their country. They had 42,000 soldiers fighting for them. They also had the Iroquois Leagues join them.
These wars were brutal and many lives were lost in the process of fighting. One story of war that many of us know well is the battle
If you commit a terrible crime such as being a sexual predator/child molester or something of that nature the shame will be with you the rest of your life and it’s going to be hard overlooking it because of the laws we have placed. In jail the inmates will even look down on you and treat you like scum they will even threaten your life. The shame for somebody doesn’t stop after the crime has been forgotten about or once they are out of jail. They have to register themselves as a sexual offender you can’t just move and try to leave it behind you. With the internet we have websites that allow us to see if sex offenders live near us it will give you there exact address.
Tom also wanted to leave once because he killed a police officer and didn’t want his family to get in trouble. “Thinks all the trouble is aimed right smack at her. If I’m gonna get her upset like that I oughta go ‘long.”(Steinbeck 539). Having a place to call home was also important to the family. They learned to not take a roof over their head for granted because they often had to sleep in a tent.
In reference to drugs, that would mean we as US citizens would have a legal right to buy, use, sell, and outright possess a certain amount of an illicit drug without penalty. Being that cocaine is addictive and destructive in large and repeated doses, I am against legalizing cocaine. The increased levels of ruthless behavior, overdoses, drug wars, and overall decline in the neighborhood across the country would be devastating. The inner cities would suffer an even greater decline in despair and hopelessness due to the streets being overly infested with open drug dealing. Although illegal activities occur on a daily basis, I think if cocaine was legal, people would be dying in the streets.
