Entrepreneurship “Why I believe I can become an Entrepreneur” What is meant by entrepreneurship? The concept of entrepreneurship was first established in the 1700s, and the meaning has evolved ever since. Many simply equate it with starting one’s own business. Most economists believe it is more than that. The entrepreneur is one who is willing to bear the risk of a new venture if there is a significant chance for profit. Others emphasize the entrepreneur’s role as an innovator who markets his innovation. Some economists say that entrepreneurs develop new goods or processes that the market demands and are not currently being supplied. Entrepreneurship is the road less traveled, but arguably the most challenging and rewarding route you could ever take. Most people dream about becoming an entrepreneur, others secretly envy it and very few make the decision to live it. To be sincere with you, I want to become an entrepreneur for several reasons. First and foremost; I am very ambitious and I love the word “control.” I want to become an entrepreneur to gain greater control over my life. I want to determine my own pace; I want to move at my own speed, I don’t want to be limited by circumstances beyond my control. I want to give my kids unborn the life I never had. I want to leave a legacy for my generation. I want to be free to do what I want; I want to spend time with my family and I don’t want to be under any pressure outside my control. According to me there are few traits which an entrepreneur MUST have, and I believe I have these to some extent. Goal Oriented: Entrepreneur’s love to set goals and will be satisfied only once they reach it. Normal human beings have tendency to find satisfaction in their accomplishments.
