I quickly began to attend college classes through my employer to make gains in my career and try to possibly secure my future. I had no idea until this point the many advantages that college was going to provide for me if I allowed it to. Continuing on in the job I had accepted it opened opportunities to study courses to get me promoted and increase my wages which bettered my lifestyle for me and my family and made things easier. I had finally found a job that I was happy in and chances to increase my thirst for knowledge as I could continue my education as long as I wanted. I finally had self- confidence and the drive to make the most of my career as I neared completion of Banker’s College.
Though, i know that with me being a full time employee and parent, college will be a little more complicated. I know that im on the road to sucess and that alone brings a great sence of sucess to my person, for which im very proud. I am very proud of being a role model to my children and family members. It's a great stress reliever because I usually play it with my friends and it takes my mind off everything and makes me happy. Sometimes if I've been in the house too long I'll take my basketball and go to my hoop I in the back yard and do a couple layups. Lasting I love computer games, not many people know my alter ego but I'm a computer nerd. I play games like league of legends, path of exile, minecraft, hammerwatch, and many MANY more. Anyways video games are probably the best stress reliever for me even though basketball may be my favorite because it's like you can be in that alternate reality when you play them.
College gives me something to keep me going. I want to be able to have a family without financial stress and worries. I wsed to think i was going to be a professional basketball player but didn't really work out the way i planned it. I can say l've worked hard to get here and i don't plan on wasting it. I am always doing something now whether it be school or work or going out, because it can't be all work with no play now can it.Besides, I like to go out as much as possible .
I always tell my kids that a college education is a key to success in life. I set myself as an example, after being out of school for so many years and then going back to college, takes a lot of motivation, dedication, and commitment. I want to better myself, my family, and to be able to say I accomplished my goal. Goals and accomplishments are two big priorities, which I value them exceedingly having the desire to reach them in life. In order to accomplish goals, a plan must be laid out.
Now my only struggle is to help and provide for my family and make them proud. My parents are getting older and so am I, I know soon I will have to leave the nest and eventually go build my own so I try to enjoy them as much as I can because I know this is part of the cycle of life. I will always have them in my mind and value the things they did for me and thought me. My family will always come first and I know if they ever needed me I will be there for them the same way they were there for me all my life. I love them to death and I know the strengths and knowledge they gave me will forever be in
I want to be able to have a good career and succeed in life. That means being able to support myself and my family. Having a decent job from going to college could change someone’s life. I want to be proud of myself for going to college. Throughout the years in high school I never really thought about my future until my senior year.
Brittany Jordan English 095 YI Ms. White August 17, 2012 What motivates me to come to DCCC is achieving a goal that I always wanted and to become more successful with myself and make my parents very proud of me. Also I want to get my associates degree so that I can transfer into a four year university and become a paralegal or a psychologist so that can get all the things I ever wanted in life. Going back to DCCC this semester motivates me and for me to know that going back to school and getting my degree will help me get a better career and it will help me benefit my family in the long run. I can see myself making goals and visualizing me with my associate’s degree. I always prepare myself to things to come up and sometimes it slows
I would love to give my children more siblings, but not before I finish school and am in a good career and as well as in a stable relationship or marriage. I came from a big family and I would like to have a big family as well. I believe that I can reach all my goals as long as I try hard enough and do not give up when the going gets tough. I want to provide a better life for my family than I had growing up and want to show them that there is more to life than what they see around
I love everything about the game: the sound of the net after a swish, crossing your opponent and finishing it with the pretty layup, the good feeling after making that three pointer, dribbling down the court, and just knowing the crowd is there to cheer you on; it all makes me happy. Even writing about the topic of basketball is exciting. Watching the game is also enjoyable, learning the many different techniques and methods you can use to trick or cross your opponent. Everyone has their own style in the game and I think it is exciting to watch. Being around other basketball players is where I feel at home.
