This would explain the difference in gross profit and sales revenue. 2. The economy seems to be a concern as; people are not flocking to the best of the best any longer and may be searching for alternative products. In tough times even a strong market share can erode with the search for comparable products at a lessor price. It appears that this very issue may be vexing Elite.
Sainsbury's is a hierarchical organisation. One of Sainsbury's aims is to make shopping more quick and effortless for customers. In order to find out how this can be done the marketing and research department has to look into this case. By doing this Sainsbury's are able to meet their targets. As Sainsbury's have a hierarchical structure they are most likely to lose a lot of money because for the marketing and research and development departments to carry out their functions they would need funding from the finance department.
The fabrication phases and the assembly and test phase consist of their own procedures. Nowadays manufacturing process becomes more and more technologically diverse and intense. It results in a decrease in a direct labor percentage of total manufacturing cost. Management considered that an inaccuracy of GEI’s standard cost system caused a poor financial performance. The company need find a better cost system which could truly track costs and identify which of products were profitable and which were not.
2.2 The budget has not been accurate enough. This has caused some budgets to be over compensated for and others under compensated for leaving us with a problem of how to distribute the remaining money from budgets or raise additional capital to fund the departments which the budget hasn’t covered. 2.3 The budget has been tampered with as the year has gone on. This has caused upset and inaccuracy as money has been shifted, added and taken from different departments, leaving some departments short or over paid for without explanation why. 3.0 Recommendations 3.1 To reduce the exceeding of budgets, I recommend that more time is spent to see where money can be saved without risking health and safety.
Task 1 Tesco For this task I chose to review’s Tesco organisations because I like how they are improving their growth in low economy percentage and demand. The image of business cycle: Growth Growth Define boom and recession Boom- The boom stage is when everyone feels good. At this stage demand increased, unemployment is very low, high competition at the job places. The business confidence is high so they invest more and expand themselves. The customers feel good.
A growth company tends to have very profitable reinvestment opportunities for its own retained earnings. Economic growth will affect Etisalat as it would increase their profits due to more people wanting more products and wanting to spend their money. As people have more money to spend on luxuries instead of the essentials it means that the higher value products will be brought. For example the Andrex toilet rolls will be brought instead of Etisalat value, because of this it means more money is being spent in the store which is an advantage for Etisalat. Recession occurs when people involved in business become more cautious and: * Customers cut back on spending, and start to save more * Manufactures and sellers cut back on their orders, produce fewer goods and start to cut back costs in general, including by laying off workers.
Purchasing from suppliers must be on time or the entire supply chain is delayed, creating late deliveries to customers. Erratic and poor quality supply can also increase costs. If facilities are not located properly it can delay product or service flow through the supply chain, and increase costs for longer deliveries. Production inefficiency and poor quality can cause delays in product or service flow and it also creates the need for more inventory which increases cost. Inefficient transportation can also result in higher inventories to offset delays and raise costs, and, causes delayed delivery to customers.
In a highly competitive business world, on a firm’s priority list is the subject of increasing profit and reducing cost. One might than pose the question, has this put them out of business (mom and pop store)? The answer is absolutely not, but rather, they too benefit from cheaper prices as they continue to buy in bulk and continue to operate as the name suggest, convenient
* Assembly Lines Faults Poor design of assembly floor line is causing manufacturing delays as inter related task are done separately. * Poor Market Reputation Due to ineffective order deliveries to customers and problems with suppliers is causing Zing PC its market reputation. * Excessive Lead Time Excessive Lead time causing delays in decision making of the firm creating operational delays. 2. How could ZingPC benefit from outsourcing?
There are numerous of reasons for project failures, the first being that the wrong business needs were being addressed. Businesses put too much time energy into solving the wrong problems. Every so often projects are launched and executed delivering a solution which doesn't address the true business need. In these cases, the project will be considered a failure, even though everything was delivered according to plan - on time, on budget. If your project doesn't deliver what the organization really needs, it will be negatively perceived (Elyse, 2010).
