Receiving a vaccine trains your body to fight off a disease. Similarly, training America’s youth to handle difficult situations can prevent future problematic situations. The second part of Benjamin Franklin’s quote says, “Wise and good men are in my opinion, the strength of the state; more so than riches or arms.” This quote references the quality of men that are in a country, and how a single man can make a greater difference than any amount of riches or arms. Riches and arms are only temporary things, but a good man has a more lasting impact. One of the greatest examples of a “good man” is Martin Luther King Jr. which is a name recognized throughout the world.
When Dax said he was happy to be alive it gave Dr. Larson reassurance for his actions years before. He also claimed that Dax had many opportunities to take his own life after the treatment, which he failed to do so. I see this as the most prolific positive for keeping Dax alive. He was able to continue seeing his family and enjoy being alive given his quality of life. It is difficult to put yourself into the situation Dax was dealing with, the only way to understand would require one of us experiencing the pain he was going through.

Andrew Choe English IV Mrs.Zuczek September 17, 2012 Beowulf Essay Beowulf is an epic based on the Anglo-Saxon culture. It was written around 700 A.D, and it is one of the oldest books in the English language. Most books that have a hero fighting an enemy originated from Beowulf. Beowulf also contains many archetypes such as the Monster of Nightmare, Hero, The Fall, Magic Weapon, Heaven vs Hell, and Haven vs Wilderness. For example, “In his far-off home Beowulf, Higlac’s Follower and the strongest of the Geats- greater And stronger than anyone anywhere in this world” describes a hero.
And he was a better swimmer than you. He was stronger, he had more endurance" (223). Conrad has really been able to open up to Berger and for him to talk about his brother like that means he is totally comfortable telling Berger anything. Berger helps him recover from Jordan's death, and says, "What could you have done to help? You couldn't have saved
After the sixteenth century, the name regularly used it Arthur or Arther. He was occasionally portrayed as a British soldier fighting alongside the British and invading the Saxons. Because his name is dropped at so many places in history, it is almost impossible to say whether or not he did truly exist. In all the Arthurian legends Merlin was seen as a prophet of the early tenth century. But his role evolved into that of a sort of magician, prophet and advisor.
The Ottoman Empire, which is part of Turkey, was changing the fastest around the world because of its military power and great economy. These two things were not the sole reasons that made them superior, it was also their way of living: everyone tried to be the best to raise their rank. As it says in stayer “Among the Turks, therefore, honors, high posts, and judgeships are the rewards of great ability and good service. If a man be dishonest, or lazy, or careless, he remains at the bottom of the ladder, an object of contempt; for such qualities there are no honors in turkey! (Strayer, page 656).” This portrays how everyone strives to get on top of the ladder and achieve success.
Mainly Frederick teaches himself and becomes an educated man (1018). Those two things are just the beginning of Douglass's new start in life and his transformation leading to becoming a free man. He endured many other trials and tribulations that made him a stronger, better man, but without this experience, his education would not have come the same way and he might not have been as passionate about becoming a free man if it was not for Mr. Auld. As mentioned earlier, this passage shows that people can be used to make a difference in life even if they appear to be doing evil or wrong in the present. It seems that Frederick truly believes that everything happens for a reason.
I think this is the most important character you can have because it will push you through life and help you become a more reliable and better person. This belief has come from a lot of adult figures in my life but mostly my dad. My dad is always telling me that even if the situation is as bad as it can get you should still always
Hindu and Hinduism are terms that can be difficult to define not only accurately but also universally. These terms can define one’s religious beliefs, one’s place within the caste system, one’s language or one’s region within India. According to the 2001 census, India’s population has reached over one billion and of those counted, Hindus make up over 80% (Narayanan, 2003). The Hindu belief system can be as simple or complex, as its follower chooses to make it because Hinduism itself is very diverse in its components. Hindus believe that their belief system has existed forever and many aspects within their belief system are cyclic in character instead of possessing a beginning, middle and an end, as is common among other belief systems.
